Hey GAF,

I have an idea I think is pretty cool, but I wanted to ask for opinions prior to making a new Thread. The idea is to buy a game for a console (or PC or whatever) and play it. I'll then write a couple of sentences about the game in a notebook. After that I will send the both things (game+notebook) to the next Gaffer who wants to play the game and he also writes something about the game in the notebook. He then sends the everything to the next person and so on...

I personally think something like this could be pretty cool, but I'm not sure.
 
my computer doesn't work right now so i was wondering......if i go to sights that are harmful with my PS3 can it get anything??? (viruses etc etc.....) Im actually on my PS3 now... god i hate typing like this lol
 
I just got a parking ticket in Chicago for expired license plate stickers.

I do have the renewed stickers, I just forgot to put them on.

Can I fight this or get the ticket wiped?

I'm pretty sure you can't get traditional viruses on a ps3 unless they were particularly designed to attack PS3s.

4chan is probably red due to the shit users post rather than something wrong with the site itself, though I could be wrong as I don't know much about 4chan.
 
I've got an essay to write in my intro criminology class, and the topic is "Why I think that ______." Basically, we're free to write about any topic in criminology and all we have to do is support it. I'm having trouble coming up with something though, I feel as if I'm being too specific. So far I've come up with "Why I think that the classical school eventually collapsed", and "Why I think that victimless crime should take less of a precedence in law enforcement."

Anybody have any ideas? A topic where I'll have plenty of resources and information to back my stance up?
 
Why don't gas stations allow you to punch the dollar amount of gas you want to put in? Or is this something readily available outside of my area?

*And I know some gas stations make you pay beforehand, but they'll still charge you if you go over, at least here they do.
 
I'm a new member of Amazon Prime and prior to this, i've always gone with the cheapest shipping options so I have a question: I selected free, two day shipping on my item and it was supposed to be delivered via USPS today. I didn't get it today, and the last tracking update was from yesterday night. Can I or should I do something about this? I'm not sure if my package is delayed, in which case I guess I don't care since I didn't pay anything for the shipping, or if it was lost in transit or something.
 
I have a vague memory of some villains, possibly from a comic book, whose schtick was that one was a clone and they constantly argued about who was the original. Eventually the original proves to the clone that he is the clone, at which point the clone kills him and brings in another clone. Then they start arguing about who is the original clone and who is a clone of a clone.

They might have been gorillas?

Reading around, it seems like a lot of people have issues with USPS and my package potentially couldn't be here for days, and I absolutely need it by tomorrow, as it's a gift for someone.

Not sure if this was answered somewhere, but I read the last two pages and didn't see anything. Does anyone know why the main page for gaf doesn't load on my computer? It says "NeoGAF is currently down for scheduled maintenance. Please be patient while the site is down." but it loads fine on my friends computer. This started on the 2nd
 
The Send to > Bluetooth device option in the right click menu has disappeared, and my Bluetooth file transfer programs just don't seem to work any more. (Win7)

Is there anyway to get it back to normal? I Googled, no help, and I've used Bluetooth on this machine before so it was definitely there about 2 weeks ago.

Edit: resolved.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

I don't know about other browsers, but in Firefox, you can go to a page and the press CTRL + F5. This will refresh the page without using the cache (it will try to re-download everything again). That would be a quick way to see if it is you cache that is causing the problem.

Each person in my class has to choose a theme from Macbeth and build a visual representation that includes the following:
-reference to a character
-reference to a specific quote
-colour (unless there is a reason for black and white)
-construction elements that lend themselves to the project (ex. if you use clay or silk - why are you using those pieces?)

Top marks on the Rubric include:
Content
A unique and purposeful presentation that demonstrates an insightful understanding of the topic and/or text, with significant and relevant details selected for support.

Communication
Innovative and explicit use of visual elements and conventions of layout and language enhance the presentation. Demonstrates precise understanding of audience and purpose.

I have no clue on how to build/make this. Can GAF help me? I need some ideas.

I got an easier class question. I have to pick a product with exceptional packaging for my marketing class. Anyone have any non-apple related suggestions(any brand goes from alch, to tampons)?

When I right click and select an option that 'option' remains on the screen and wont go away.
What the hell's up with that? This is in Vista btw.

I don't think a bunch of people replying with a number putting distance between unanswered questions above yours works in this thread
 
Just started rewatching the X-Files and I was wondering, all those weird short clips during the intro sequence, are they things from upcoming episodes or just random stuff thrown together to look strange? :D

Hi guys. I'd appreciate any tips or advice you have over "online assessments" for jobs. After sending an application off to an employer they seem to have matched me up with a department (but not a position) and want me to perform this assessment on my computer. Anyone done something like this with a company? It'll be questionnaires, responding to work situations etc. I'm really nervous, so any tips to getting through this?

Doesn't seem to be timed, but I'll need to "set aside a period of my day" to complete it. The fact that this might place me at a job makes me feel a little more confident however, I just don't want to screw things up like I have a lot in my job hunt.
 
Is anyone familiar with Windows Vista/7 Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc)

I wanted to split some free space from a partition into separate partition. I followed steps from Microsoft, starting with 'shrink volume'. However, once this was complete, there was no 'Unallocated Space'. My HDD capacity just got smaller. Anyone encountered this before?

edit* Fixed with EASEUS Partition Master.
