I don't think they've implemented HTML5 for FF yet. Just try uninstalling flash and reinstalling it. It seems to be a problem with the FF flash plugin and not firefox, since the non-fullscreen slider is still there.

The slider will go away if I hover the mouse over the menu/address/nav bar but the menu/address/nav bar will still stay there. If I F11 to fullscreen FF then regardless of where I hover the mouse, with no movement, the slider won't go away. Catch-22. [edit, uninstalled flash, reinstalled (same version is the most recent) and seeing the same results.]

Assuming "Night Ranger" is one person the second one is correct. A singular noun must correspond with a singular verb. (ranger:was :: rangers:were)

In American English, a group is considered a singular entity, so it is more proper to use "was".

In the Queen's English, a group are considered a plural, so it is more proper to use "were".

Sup gaffers! I need some help concerning the AC in my house. Currently live with my parents and brothers. It's summertime, so that means it's hitting 90+ degrees and my oldest brother, who owns the house, has set the thermostat in a retarded way in hopes of trying to reduce the gas/electricity bill. I need help proving to him that he can set it in a non-retarded way and still have a cool house. Consider me a wimp, but my room never dips below 80 degrees, which is giving me an extremely difficult time sleeping at night and has turned me into a vampire since I only sleep whenever the AC is on. Windows are barely ever open because we live in a foresty area and the last thing we need are swarms of stink bugs, mosquitoes, spiders, and other crap crawling about.

Right now, the AC turns on for about 6-8 straight hours and has periodical cycles that last no longer than 10 minutes. However, my brother sets it up so it doesn't actually turn on until the house is 85F (sometimes more) and by the time those 6-8 hours are over, the house is probably at 75F (probably more like 77F). This is usually from about 2PM-10PM and within a half hour of the AC turning off, because the outside temps are still relatively hot, our house climbs back up to 80 pretty quickly again. Would it be correct to assume that if the thermostat were set to turn on at 80 degrees, and the AC was on for the same 6-8hours, that it would essentially be using the same amount of gas/electricity? Or better yet, can anyone think of a cost-efficient solution to setting the thermostat? I seriously can't stand sleeping in 80-85 degree weather but my brother is sort of a meathead so I need a legit solution to this.

The Beatles was touring the country?

Beatles are still a singular unit, but you need to use were. So is the reason you use "was" with Night Ranger because they are a singular unit, or because "Night Ranger" itself is not plural?
 
So here's my situtation

There's a game I want to buy on Amazon. Apparently it only has 8 copies left in stock, so I have to act fast cause the game is out of print. I traded in LA Noire for 31 dollars credit- this is enough credit to cover the cost of the new game I want to buy. My problem is this- LA Noire was delivered to Amazon yesterday morning at 2am, but I guess the package hasn't been processed yet because I haven't received the credit in my trade-in account yet. Would it be possible to go ahead and buy the new game tonight, select the slowest shipping, and then change the method of payment to use my credit once LA Noire has been processed? I'm assuming I would have to do this before the game has actually been shipped, but is this even possible at all? Thanks for the help.

Unless something has changed from the last time I did this:
Yes, assuming you manage to get the credit before the order enters the "shipping soon" status, then you'll be able to easily change it so that the credit is used rather than your credit card. Once you get your credit, when you click on your order you should see some red text that says something like "You have $XX.XX of credit" and a button that says something like "Apply Credit." But again, it's a race against time. I don't personally remember how long it takes for trade-in credit to actually go through.
 
I need help with an electric shaver. It doesn't fucking cut. It's a Braun M90 that I just purchased 2 days ago and went to shave with today. I push it against my skin and shave like I used to with a normal razor and it doesn't fucking do anything??? It just smears my hair around.

What am I doing wrong?

You gotta rotate the plastic cover thing to expose the blades. The trimmer is on the side, you sort of flip it out.

I know that much :P I read the instructions. I did rotate it to expose the foil, but no matter how hard I press with it, nothing happens.

I have no clue what could be wrong then. Maybe your hair's too long? The thing that's not the trimmer is really just for stubble. Maybe the battery is almost dry and the thing doesn't produce enough rpm to cut anything. I'm just randomly guessing here. Maybe it's broken. I mean, if you follow the instructions, it either works or it doesn't..

Those reek of professional costume design and seem like they would be awfully expensive just for some glasses.

EDIT: Seems that the show was done with the help of Enlightend Designs. They used EL wire for the costumes and apparently, the battery pack for the glasses was spotted during the show.

After some snooping, it seems theres EL wire involved.
I saw a pic of some guy who made his own just like that.

Edit: Yeah, I spent ages going through Enlighted's site when I found it. I would have got the gloves he wore in his tour if they weren't SOOOOO expensive.
 
Why is there no such thing as a 'doping olympics'? Like the regular olympics, only that any kind of doping is legal.
I normally don't watch sports, but I'd pay good money to see some roided-up freaks with massive teeth gaps due to HGH usage go head-to-head in various competitions.
Anyone with me?

Electric razors don't work for everyone. They don't work for me. They do the same thing yours do. I WISH I could just go over my face easily in a couple of minutes and look great but no that's never gonna happen. It always ends up looking patchy and it takes a solid 10 minutes to look halfway decent with a fucking electric razor. Totally pointless.

I even tried using something like 'Lectric Shave to get the hairs to "stand up" more so they could be easily shaved... but no that didn't work either.

Because such a body would be promoting activity which would severly threaten athletes' health.

People would try to outdo each other by doping themselves up more and more. There would be deaths.

I know, that's the whole point of it.
Other sports promote injuries as well: even though headers in soccer cause brain damage, they are a regular part of the game.
Same with punches to the face in boxing.
And lots of people watch NASCAR/Formula 1 for the crashes.
If we cut the maximum allowed power for cars in half, racing would be much safer. And much more boring.
Same with the roidolympics vs normal olympics.
You just KNOW it'd be one hell of a show.
 
With electric shavers, you don't want to press it against the skin so much. You actually have to kinda gently go over your skin. If you press too hard, you will flatten the hairs, and the shaver will catch nothing.
 
I made a 5 minute movie with a Canon Ixy 8m pixel camera. It's a .avi and it's about 560 Mbs. I uploaded it to YouTube and it looked okay. Then I added a song with iMovie (I'm on a mac and it's the only movie editing software I currently have). Afterwards I uploaded the file on YT again but this time it looks a lot shittier - grainy, washed-out colors, etc. This is the first time I've added music to a video, but surely it must be possible to add music without this very obvious loss of image quality?
 
Amazon sent my shipment through "Ensenda". Its 5PM right now and it's supposed to be here sometime from 8-8. What are the chances Ensenda fucks this up? Never heard of them and my first google of them turned up a bunch of complaints.
 
Wtf happened to imgur's uploading? They added all this shit that I don't care about. I just want to quickly upload, edit the size and call it a day. :(

I do have that plug in. Look, try it right now! Do the upload + quick edit and you'll see what I'm talking about. Previously, you'd get the resize option right away, but the way it's now you have to click on the advanced tab, click the resize button, pick your size, and save it. Convenience was lost. :(

My moronic neighbor left paint cans out for the garbage men, they didn't take them because you aren't supposed to take them. Now he's just leaving them there (I guess). Should I say anything or do anything? My neighborhood has some dumbass teenagers that like to do stuff and I rather now have my house or cars get painted.
 
I have a question for anyone who was born with a foreskin but decided to get rid of it.

I'm thinking of getting rid of mine, but it seems so weird not having one. Is it worth it? What are the pros and cons? Is it uncomfortable to walk around just like that? And so on.

I know that most people who reads this will just laugh and find it embarrassing, but it's important damnit!
