Those new upgraded graphics are coming to DriveClub Gif inside

bmOBjfB.jpg

Was just about to post this. It's them tinkering, not necessarily spending resources.

I don't care about this when the real issue is there . The game needs improved af more than anything. A bit of distance flat out makes textures on the same level as ps2 when it's far enough.

Also, motorstorm please.

And that's that.

People really need to get a clue she it comes to bitching about graphics tech and frame rates sometimes.

Just because something gets improved it doesn't always mean it will cost more resources.

Bingo. If its free and further adds to the overall visual presentation then why wouldn't they add. The game that keeps on giving.

Best racer in years.

Driveclub is one of those games I wished I liked. It looks beautiful and has so much content constantly being released. I just hate the driving. Can't do it.

Anything on better iQ? Not that it's bad but it just needs that one extra effort to look really clean.

It's just a matter of doing often. Like any game.

SO good to see the support this game has gotten. It had a fantastic handling model and graphics off the bat. The main issues were challenges not working and some features like rain missing. I'm glad they finally got there and I'd LOVE to see a Driveclub 2. BUT only if it features real life city tracks. I dearly miss Project Gotham racing, Driveclub is the spiritual successor in the handling. I'd LOVe to see Tokyo, New York, London tracks etc again. Would look insane in his engine.

Fingers crossed Sony gives us that.

I can't believe we're getting even MORE cars next month. I'm hoping they announce a DeLorean. I'd love to race one in DC. Also I hope there's a formal announcement of DCVR at PSX next month.

To respond to your post in the other thread; I knew about crysis and the POM's. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the tweet. Funny thing is Rushy stated these changes or the same or cheaper than the current model. I really think developers should invest in Tessellation and POM's.

aye

I am not sure how a pom texture could be cheaper than a normal mapped one though based upon what that tweet says.

Maybe he means they had real geometry there or something and they were vertex bound so pushing that detail to pom made it cheaper over all.

Yeah. Too bad you will need to drive slowly to notice all these cool effects because of the low frame rate combined with the aggressive motion blur. Just like you need to stop the car to notice the foliage effects or other details.

The game has a very popular photo mode and a replay mode

The problem is that it's not fun until you're good at it. Well, not fun for me at least. I don't need to win every race to have fun, I just like to successfully complete a course without crashing constantly, or feeling like I'm on edge because I've got to really focus to just turn a corner.

Drive club can fuck itself. First thing I did upon buying ps plus was try to grab my free ps plus version only to find it now costs 14.99. What the hell happened here?

Maybe you waited too late, or it wasn't free to ps+ users yet? PS+ free games don't stay free forever. That's why I would reactivate when a free game I want to attach to my account was available to download. Before DC showed up on ps+ I was ready to activate just to have it tied to my account. I ended up buying it.

Driveclub ps plus edition was not some free game of the month. It was a free to play version of driveclub that was touted as a selling point for the service. They delayed it a year, released it and quietly cancelled it a few months later.

There was an announcement made when it was coming to Plus, and one made when it was leaving it. It was available for about three months. No need to blame Evolution, the timing for it coming off was a Sony decision.

After seeing it was £12 on PSN, I just went ahead and bought it. £12 is definitely in the impulse buy range.

Raced a few tracks, no regrets. I just wish it had a soundtrack...why is there no music?!

The engines are the music.

Real answer - music is off by default. Check menu settings.

Uh? There is a soundtrack, is just off by default :D.

As for the improvement, maybe it's part of their DriveclubVR project ... (at least since Rushy said it's a possibly using less resources).

Drive Club is the best looking game ever. I want a sim with those graphics at 60fps. It's a great game as is but I will always prefer sim physics over arcade style.

Maybe someone can help me understand this, but what's with the desire for more cars on track in general? I get nervous as hell in races with the current number of cars, and once you leave the majority of them behind, they're pointless no? If anything I'd probably want the current number (hell I'd take fewer even), and more work on the A.I.

I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to active competitions though, and I much prefer things of the time trial variety, so there is that.

Why would this be a waste. Plus no one will see it is wrong. It's something I notice in real life that I thought wasn't being presented in games.

Plus, they are honing their engine. Obviously this could do wonders for the bumpy roads of Motorstorm.

MOTORSTORM!

Plus people need to realize that the quality of a games "graphics" is the sum of it's parts. Driveclub is only as gorgeous as it is because it does so many things well, this is merely one of those parts, being even better presented.

Maybe you can test it. I think it was already a POM.

Drive the slower cars until you master them then move to the next class. I sucked completely at the game, but then I told myself I was going to practice with the above steps. Driving a hatchbacks are really relaxing.
