THQ Unveils MX vs. ATV Unleashed to Fans as Previous Title, MX Unleashed, Surpasses One Million Units
# CALABASAS HILLS, Calif., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Leading video game publisher THQ Inc., (Nasdaq: THQI - News), and Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports division, today announced that MX vs. ATV Unleashed will make its public debut January 8 at the 2004-2005 THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series' event at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA. The highly anticipated title from THQ's renowned internal game developer Rainbow Studios builds on the success of its predecessor, MX Unleashed, which recently surpassed one million units. The game brings ATVs, dirt bikes and several new vehicle types together, in addition to new game-play modes and online play, expanding significantly on the Unleashed franchise and providing fans with an all-encompassing off-road experience."
MX vs. ATV Unleashed brings Rainbow Studio's critically acclaimed ATV expertise to the top-selling "Unleashed" franchise, allowing gamers to compete with ATVs, dirt bikes and an array of new vehicle types including a redesigned monster truck, powerful sand-rail and a raised 4x4 golf kart. Players will explore massive free-world environments containing hill climbs, machine challenges and short track races. The game will be playable online for up to eight players allowing them to compete with the top professional ATV and Motocross riders in career mode.
THQ will be showcasing MX vs. ATV Unleashed in the pit area of this weekend's Supercross event at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, with game-play kiosks, free sample demo discs of the game, contests and prize package giveaways from THQ and its in-game sponsors. The game will continue to follow the THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series for the duration of the season.
