People fear what they do not knowWhat's wrong with Jim Carrey in space?
KK has alot on her plate for a producer thats pretty 'hands on': Episode 8 post production, Episode 9 is supposed to be shooting in January, the Han solo movie and deciding the creative team for the 2020 spinoff. The workload seems insane.
I'd watch it. That said, does Han Solo being depicted as Jim Carey in space sound good to you? What's wrong with Jim Carrey in space?
The Last Jedi's post-production is wrapping up in August, according to Rian Johnson (at about 33:00 in this podcast), so that's one less for the workload.
Never said it couldn't be, just that there seems to be such a lust from certain people for a SW movie to be radically different to the point where it's damn near unrecognizable or it's being "played safe."
This movie can't take place long before IV, so I don't see why the character would need to be a lot different.
21 jump street in space with Han and Lando sounds pretty interestingI'd watch it. That said, does Han Solo being depicted as Jim Carey in space sound good to you?

All righty thenWhat's wrong with Jim Carrey in space?
The only good thing to ever come out of Ron Howard is bryce dallas howard.
In this thread I learned an academy award winning director and the writer of the some best Star Wars characters and movies are to be trusted less than our Lord and Miller.
If the rumor is that they wanted the movie framed around Han embellishing one of his adventures, that seems to be the best way to make this whole thing savable. Just shoot those scenes and massage the rest of the movie that's been shot so far around them.
That I could see them pulling off in the reshoot stage and making the May deadline.
And all his hate for Opie. I'm not a huge fan of his recent stuff, but Rush was great! Make a Han Solo movie about the Kessel run like that and it would be awesome. :X
Yep, a few paycheck movies and your best work is forgotten, apparently.
Yes.I'd watch it. That said, does Han Solo being depicted as Jim Carey in space sound good to you?

.....how have I never made this connection
TBH, the actual documentary filmmaking prowess of that film is rather mediocre, and the whole thing lives and dies by the quality of the footage. Even Brett Ratner couldn't fuck up Beatles footage.Has it been pointed out in here yet that Ron Howard made a successful, critically acclaimed film almost entirely out of other people's footage just last year?
This is good shit.
Well done!
This is eerily good.
Worth it.
Needs to be the opening credits of the movie.I spent WAY too long on this....

I've seen two Treverrow Films (JW and Safety) and I've liked them both. I can't say I've liked any JJ Abrahms film I've seen.
Can someone explain to me why Trevorrow is a bad choice?

On behalf of the writer, who wrote ESB, RotJ, and TFA (as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark), who probably knows more about the character than literally anyone.#teampessimist
Months in already, execs calling the shots, this shit is doomed.
The problem is nobody gives a fuck about Hans backstory. L&M do comedy. Good comedy. On behalf of the writer, who wrote ESB, RotJ, and TFA (as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark), who probably knows more about the character than literally anyone.
The situation is worrisome because how unheard of this is, absolutely, but it's not necessarily apocalyptic.
Please tell me this is sarcasm.Yes.
Who actually wants a reverent and faithful to canon take on the young Han Solo?
This. The hubris of the these directors is extreme... to go against against the vision of the writer who literally created the Harrison Ford movie persona in a movie ABOUT one of his iconic characters. On behalf of the writer, who wrote ESB, RotJ, and TFA (as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark), who probably knows more about the character than literally anyone.

That was the reason to watch this, not some writer wanting to flesh out a 30 year old character with an origin story.
Why is Ron Howard worrisome? I don't get it.Ron Howard making a Star Wars film is worrisome. Ron Howard being called in at the last minute to salvage a botched Star Wars film is apocalyptic.
