TikTok is also snooping on your clipboard

godhandiscen

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.

Holy crap, not sure how they infiltrated this feature past the store quality control, but glad that the new privacy settings in iOS14 were able to spot it.
With this kind of access, they could steal clear text passwords that you might have copy and pasted. There is no excuse for pulling off this shit.

You're telling me this Chinese app which monitors every single video, view, comment, GPS location and phone hardware is also monitoring what we type?

Apple should just create a setting to disable clipboard snooping. There are some niceties around it like automatically creating a new post, etc. But honestly I can live without them.

What you copied from other apps. Think of passwords and such.

I have seen several tik tok threads on 4chan, am i correct in assuming that tik tok is mainly used by underage girls and/or traps?

I know its retarded girls dancing but i assume the above must be correct in 4chin likes it

Tik Tok is owned by the Chinese Communist Party.
Technically no.

It's owned by a ByteDance. However, the CCP's power over Chinese businesses is well known.

One of the more problematic implications is a 2017 Chinese law, which requires Chinese companies to comply with government intelligence operations if asked

If it is owned by a Chinese business it is owned by the CCP. There is no difference.

From the Twitter thread it seems this impacts more than just tiktok including stuff like Microsoft Teams, there is probably an actual use case for monitoring the clipboard and apps have just been coded lazily.
