That's why ByteDance refused to sell. They are a front for the CCP and if they couldn't have their spying app in the US they wouldn't run it period.

If they were using it as spyware then that is a different story. Other apps should not be able to spy on their users either. Sometimes I think social media in general is a way to get people used to big brother society.

During the Trump presidency, he tried to ban it twice, but was shut down twice by the courts.
The Biden presidency tried another strategy, learning from the two previous attempts, and were successful.

I knew their data collection was bad which was why I never installed the app. The fact that they collect private message data is insanity. And it's all going to the CCP.
