Wow. I just saw this guy on NBC nightly news a few nights ago. He always seemed like a fair, level-headed individual. Doesn't seem fair that somebody so mild-mannered dies at a young age, but people like O'Reilly who constantly blow-up on camera (and most certainly off-camera), seem to live forever.

New York Times and Mark Halperin's The Page is reporting it. The News is basically confirmed now :(

MSNBC is running a special report and having Brian Williams talking from an Afghanistan airport reporting now.

:(

We can all agree he was the best debate moderator on any network. Russert was The Guy. I can't even imagine watching Meet the Press now...And he seemed so excited about this new election. :(

As a young voter who doesn't know much about the political world, I can say this truly saddens me. Tim Russert was so phenomenal at what he did and educated me with every MTP during these primaries.

Rest in peace indeed. :(

Really sucks. He was one of the few TV pundits I liked. He had this endearing enthusiasm that I'll miss greatly. You could tell he loved the hell out of his job.

What the fuck, God!?

Fat ass piece of shit Rush Limbaugh is right over there. You couldn't have taken him instead? Or Bill-O? Or Hannity?

An enthusiasm nobody else has. That's what sucks.

Okay, who was the fucktard that edited Wikipedia so that searching Tim Russert takes you to the page for "Fats"? Fucked up people.

edit: already fixed

edit #2: From his wikipedia page:
Reports also say he was returning from Boston, where he was fat

Assholes.

Excuse me? I don't think advocating for someone else to have died is particularly appropriate right now. It's sad that Russert died, but that's just offensive.

As a Buffalo native, this is really tough news to hear. He was extremely popular around here, loved by everyone for staying true to his roots through his rise. A class act all the way, and great at what he did.

It's completely appropriate. The world is cruel.

That graphic with an extended moment of silence is how I learned of this news. I just flipped my TV on15 minutes ago, and the channel happened to be on MSNBC.

Just a terrible loss.

No, calling for someone else to die in a thread about a celebrity figure dying is obscene, no matter who the other person is.

In my opinion it's as bad as those ghouls who brought up Chappaquiddick in the Ted Kennedy thread. You show respect for the dead and you don't call for other people to die.
