Titanfall 2: How Titans work

I'm not crazy about the changes to the rodeo mechanic, or the stripping of Titan customization. To lesser degree I'm letdown that the rounds flying around seem to sound a lot more like CoD. To be honest the more I hear about the game the less excited I am, but I will still be there day one.

Has anyone bright up the changes with the boost? No boost for the heavy Titan, 1 for the Middle weight and two for the light. All down one boost from the original. How will a heavy get away from a nuclear explosion?

Maybe nuke eject won't be back, then again a Scorch user will know that the opposing Titan has nuke eject (BC Heroes) and thus should stay away when doomed.

These changes really don't sound great. Hopefully in practice they'll be better, but customization of the Titans was super important to me in the first game.

I like the new rodeo changes. Always thought it was a bit weird how pilots could take out a Titan so easily in Titanfall that it was LITERALLY suicide to run a Titan by yourself and everyone waited for a teammate to drop a Titan before droppeing theirs so they could cover each other from one man army rodeos.

Edit: and the smoke guard wasn't as good as people claim. Every time I got smoked I jumped the fuck off off let it wear out then jump back on and finished the job. Making sure I watch the pilot hatch in case the titan controller got cute ejecting to shoot me off.

Man, Spitfire + Slammer was one of my favorite loadouts in Titanfall 1. I'm bummed I won't be able to shred a Titan in seconds as a Pilot anymore.

Jumping off a Titan had a predictable launch that a good pilot could anticipate and murder with, especially if they could position the Titan well. Alternatively, pop smoke and dash away when the pilot leaps off, then turn and murder them. The smoke was more to get them off.

I was always a fan of hopping out of the Titan and tossing C4 up though. God Titanfall was so good.

Pop smoke and dash. Doesn't work as well really. Just lets the next guy get you because smoke is charging. Then you're stuck and the rodeo guy knows it. Eject for a showdown or do as much damage as you can before he takes you down. That's why everyone waited for a teammate to have a titan ready to cover each other from rodeos.

Not liking the way these changes sound one bit. Reduced pilot freedom on rodeo and reduced Titan mobility and customization? Eugh.

I honestly don't get it. They struck gold with the gameplay in the original and I feel like they're kind of fucking it up from the impressions I've read on Reddit. Trying to stay hyped, but the more I hear, the worst it gets.

The bots aren't there to emulate players, they're cannon fodders/player detectors that add their own dynamic to the gameplay. In Titanfall lore, pilots (players) are some kind of superhuman soldiers, and you can jear the grunts being in awe of what they accomplish during the game.

Could not explain this better. Bravo.
