The time delay between spawns is smaller than the time needed to switch to the burn card I want.

You have to wait at least 2 seconds to spawn I believe. That is enough time to select a burn card. Even if it isn't, every player in the game has the same "handicap" so it is not an issue.

Is there any way to choose what team you want to play as in campaign mode? I just need one more win with the Militia to get the achievement but I keep on joining in as an IMC

SSD is useless as you have to wait for other ppl to load their games before the match begins. It'll only spare you from the opening load of the game. I dont recommend blowing 50 gigs just for that.
That makes sense actually. Might offload it and create a symlink if it's not benefitting from the SSD at all.

Hardpoint is starting to become my go to game mode.

Totally. Hard point and attrition for me, they're the most fun. CTF is fun, but I feel like unless you're playing with a centralized team that you can speak to, it's pointless to play as soloing that stuff just leads to a big mess.

Kind of wish Titanfall did the Killzone thing of having 3 or 4 different game types trigger in a single match. KZ:SF was pretty boring, but that aspect of it was great.

Same here. Hardpoint brings human opponents together to fight. Attrition mode is too much bot fighting then Titan slug fests as players could be anywhere on the map. You will definitely run into human vs human encounters frequently with hardpoint.

Yup, the mutation aspect is great. Too bad it was implemented in a boring game. This feature set would be amazing for TitanFall. So you have a boring game with a great feature set and a great game with a lackluster, non existent feature set.

time played vs skill? BS.

I'm level 6 in a room full of players all over level 20. A level 50 guy on the other team just went 23 and 1? I was killed by players using guns and tactics I have yet to learn on maps I have yet to memorize, somehow this makes a level playfield? Again, BS. This is the same thing COD does, you're either a god or a clod.

Worst MM I've ever experienced.[/QUOTE]

Are you complaining about dying on a map that you don't know and without familiarization of weapons of other players? Would you like everyone to jut stand around so you can get some kills and let you memorize the map? Of course you are going to die a bit when you first start playing, you don't know anything yet. If a person were to go Generation 2 which starts you at Level 1 vs. a brand new Level 1 player all guns being exactly equal, who do you think will win more often?

Thanks to everyone that responded above. I was mostly worried about the performance side of it and a few people are mentioning some minor issues. Are there any specifics other than it running poorly on certain video cards? I'm running a GTX 770 with 4 gigs of memory right now.

On my 550 ti shadow details destroy frame rate, maybe try setting that lower or off all together.

I've actually only tried that and Attrition, but yeah. It really works. The points are well-placed, the timing is flawless, and the map size + player limit provides for both heated firefights around contested areas and completely alone stealth caps. I wouldn't be surprised if it stays my favorite mode.

Attrition is a little confusing to me, actually. I love that it's not just TDM, but I don't think I quite understand everything about the scoring. For example, if you hack Spectres, is that essentially wasting points you could've earned killing them?

I wish they did mutation stuff for the campaign.

Hardpoint, CTF, and Last Titan Standing are my favorite so far. I actually didn't think I would like LTS because I never like 1 life game modes; it's actually really fun though.

I think he's complaining about the fact that the MM is matching him up with people who have played dramatically more than he has on areas that he's never played rather with people with a similar skill level to his own.

Which is valid. I don't know why it's putting people who are Gen 4 and 5 up with new players. I saw that all night last night.

same. but mainly because I'm not great at attrition, but I'm ok at taking points and holding them.

for the challenges, do you need to use all the weapons to a certain level to get to gen 2, or can you stick with one and just get higher and higher levels on that one weapon?

This is some crap.
I get matched with brand new level ones who have played for 2 hours.
Even the people I'm matched with that are my own generation get rolled half the time.
Either it doesn't work or its not there, because I'm positive that I'm matched with random people, the games are way too inconsistent and don't add up in the slightest.

Maybe its there, just really really awful.

I will however, add that i have made an observation.
Whenever i head into matchmaking as a pre made.. We are usually matched up against other various sizes of premades.

I've had a bad experience with the matchmaking overall. For some reason the game is heavily biased with putting you in IMC, so Militia team tends to have much better players. If I'm IMC most of the time I lose even if I have no deaths and 98 Attrition Points, because there is someone new on my team. Not a big deal, but when I'm in Militia it seems almost impossible to lose -- this is especially for the Campaign.

I did notice that the Tutorial determines your skill. Right from the bat I noticed a slight bug where you can still melee when you're not supposed to as it tells you about the Titan's mechanics, so you can just keep killing the Titan waves over and over. I think the grenade throwing and how many times it takes you to pass certain areas also determine it. When I first stepped out everyone was a lot better than the people I play against now.

I had a couple ideas surrounding the prologue to matches. I haven't sorted this out entirely, of course, but I thought it was a cool idea so I wanted to present it here. Feel free to give a brutally honest assessment. You won't hurt my feelings.

1) Imagine if you had a burn card that was something like "Saviors" or "A-Team". You use the card and if you have it as the prologue begins, your getaway ship shows up faster, and not only that, a small bot force (maybe 3) deploys from the ship and lays down a heavy defense to help you escape. Think Super Spectres. They might have sidewinders, or whatever, and would attack the enemies to help you get on the ship.

The entire concept of the prologue getaway is that it's awesome for a guy on the losing team to escape. This would be the ultimate FU getaway, it wouldn't happen very often, but it would be so awesome to have that winning team flooding the getaway zone only to be like "oh shit" when they saw that defense force exit the ship and begin a repulsive attack.

2) On a similar note, this could also be another burn card, where upon the prologue beginning, and you're on the losing side, you'd have a personal drone find you on the battlefield and you'd grab on and be quickly escorted to the getaway ship. It would just be a cool semi "get out of jail" card, where you'd be given a much better shot as escape.

Neither of these would be game changers, but I just thought they'd be hilarious and amusing extras to the prologue concept, and maybe burn cards as well.

I'm around level 20 and haven't had that bad of an experience but there were some lopsided matches. Part of the problem is that the skill based match making is based past data. In other words, you have to play the game to get a skill assessment. Being a level six means you only played a few matches. Probably not enough to assess your skill accurately or provide good match making. Hopefully it gets better as you play more.

Does anyone with a good amount of time into the game see good matchmaking?

To be honest, i never thought of that.
I do win nearly every time I'm on the militia side...

Any skill determination that was done in the tutorial, if that would be the case at least.. Is gone for me now, it just feels like a crapshoot.

Except when i play with a pre made group.. We get harder games for sure.
Probably due to being matched against other pre made groups, which i like.. A lot.. M kes me want to play with friends more.
I would love clarification on that from respawn... Or at least confirmation that i am actually being matched against pre made groups, when i myself queue up as a pre made group.

If thats really the case, I'm surprised they haven't talked about it, because its an awesome feature... Assuming I'm right.

It is though. I've already gotten to level 33 and done really well without using more than maybe 1 or 2.

If they had designed all of them to work for a set amount of time like say 5 minutes for example, then I would use them. As it is, I waste good time to use the card and then immediately die without getting the chance to use it to good effect.

Well to put it in perspective, my win ratio is 70% -- with Militia I only lost a handful out of 137 or so games... I have played a lot of Attrition though, I'm nearly Generation 3 waiting for either my brother of my US friend to finally jump online so I can play something Team based.

The temporary-ness of them is exactly what makes them not broken. If you could have X risk free minutes of an Amped anti-titan weapon you could do untold amounts of damage and just repeatedly through yourself back in the fire as you respawn.

The fact that you can do perfectly well without them is a good thing.

I really don't understand how you're wasting good time to use them. You press a button, and click the card. It takes almost no time. The only significant time commitment comes in managing your cards between matches.

is the picture that is displayed in the lobby the level you'll be playing next? if so, why don't they let you select your titan/pilot in that screen, instead of having to do it quickly after the level has loaded? Wouldn't be so bad if you could rename your custom builds

I find that standard Deathmatch is the weak spot in the game.. Hardpoint, CTF and LTS are way more fun and engaging.

I'm fully a bumper jumper now, it was tough to transition but now it feels natural. There's so much more you can do being able to pivot and aim in the air.

I've been using my 360 controller on PC and have been consistently among the high scorers, even went some rounds without dying. Feels good to be competitive with a controller on the PC.

No, I'm just saddened that such a unique feature is going to waste because I essentially don't need to use it. I want to use them because some of them like echo vision are cool, but I lose motivation to keep going back to the card selection if they continually go to waste.

I'm sorry if I seemed bitter, I love this game and want to see all the content grab me.

This game is so much fun. I got in with a good team on the Campaign MP this morning and we won every round. I can't wait to try out the Ogre now.

I think my favorite weapon in the game is the rail fun on the Titan. It's not great one on one but deadly when you are providing support for another Titan.

900p w/ all settings on High and 2x MSAA runs better for me than 1080p w/ all settings on Low and no AA. Substantially better.

I'll have to try this, then. Going investigate now, in fact.

edit: Damn, for whatever reason at 900p when I choose run in a window, it actually goes into a window and isn't borderless anymore.

Not too happy with the network quality right now, the beta showed me how good it can get yet right now a 35ms server is not exactly that, I get good ping but everyone else running around is spiking and skipping everywhere, they also removed the auto playing killcam when you die, why?

I honestly hope server quality improves.

You get 3 cards you can use one at the start of the match no penalty at all, you can choose to use one during the match. Either way you lose nothing by using it at the start.

Also burn cards can last through the entire match in LTS because it's very easy not to die as a pilot.

If your auto-Titan gets rodeod and you have the poison smoke equipped... Is it smart enough to deploy it? I swear mine isn't... But I haven't exactly done any hard research.

Jealous of you guys! Not use to not picking up a major release on an xbox console :(. Hopefully MS pulls off an interesting E3 to give me a few more reasons to pick up the console.
