Not true, they have the same email you a code and type it in as Steam does.2) Origin doesn't have a second level of security and your account can be compromised more easily. I've already had my Origin account stolen once due to Sim City release. Can't wait until someone tries to jack my account to play TitanFall.
Mainly number one though. It makes absolutely zero sense to make a game PC Origin exclusive in this day and age unless EA is developing it themselves.
i really don't care, i mean i prefer steam but if i was interested in the game i'd buy it. i see no reason why not. This whole "no steam, no sale" thing always baffled me, i can sort of understand it here but i see it on here when talking about non DRM games...
competition is fine.
Origin isn't even bad anymore. This is an EA game and people are shocked its on Origins? News flash if you jump in a pool of water you'll get wet!
As always I'll be the loner who defends Origin.
I'm all for hating EA - fuck those chumps - but Origin, as a service, is actually good. It works.
Yep. It's light, downloads are a lot faster than on Steam and the deals can be really good. I also like how it lets me download original language versions of titles I bought here in retail that are polish-only.
The only thing I really don't like about Origin is how fragmented their offerings are. I mean, why in the world can't I buy BioWare's DLC through Origin? Or download F2P version of Old Republic?

Is this circle jerk thread really necessary? We all saw it coming from a mile away.

I have around a dozen games on Origin but I still don't like two clients splitting my library. Will get Titanfall only on sale way later now, immediate impulse to buy it at release is gone.Of course it was needed. It gives people that had already decided they didn't want the game another chance to let everyone know that they won't buy the game.
And yet every Origin game I have was a 3rd party key ( including BF4 + Premium for £54)
And you can buy games on their regional store and play it on your main like all those guys who bought BF4 + Premium from the Mexican Origin store.
Pot meet kettle:
If there a good reason to not use origin, like it being slow, badly programmed or a resource hogger?
Well, Xbox version for me!
Its actually quite fast, uses hardly any resources and has a couple of neat features, like in built twitch streaming, auto client shutdown on game exit, 24 hour refund policy on EA games and a much better customer service setup than Steams.
I quite like the client (more than Steam in fact - due to how I use the clients) and they've fixed the main issue I had with it in the latest update, you used to have a forced popup advert every so often - they've now (finally) given us an option to turn it off.
Same! If they released it on steam I'd be all over that as well.
I've never used origin (I do use Steam on my PC), I always read that people don't like it, but I don't actually know why?

I fail to see how the PC version will be any better than the console versions when we have MW2 as a precedent of how they handle that platform. You will willingly choose to play an inferior version of the game to prevent yourself from installing an innocuous program?

Yeah ye guys are all talk. Once the reviews start coming in ye will all buy it without fail.
Also why do ye care what service it is on? Just play the god damn game
I'm not bothered by Origin, but I hate this sort of talk. You make it sound like "gamers" are uncontrollable addicts with no sense of control. "You'll come around, like the mindless sheep you are."
Come on man.
Shocking news.
The problem here is that Origin isnt in its infancy like Steam was 10 years ago. Origin is a rebranding of an old platform EA had lying around. It would be true had the service not existed for years, already. EA only made a push recently since every publisher needs to have their own online store and app, apparently.Just change the name to Steam and the year to 2004 and the same argument
