There's a lot of good stuff about this movie.

Like the long shot of the boat shooting a flare off and it's in the middle of absolutely nowhere.

Also the 10 second clip of Rose staring at the Statue of Liberty. I think that might be my favorite moment.

Remember when they had sex in the car?

Yep, I was on my own watching the movie, I was 11 at the time, and all of the sudden cousin came into the room to say hello and I paused it at Kate topless scene.

Then my mum came in gave us some drink, looked at the tv and walked out.... she didn't say anything. :|

why didnt they both get on the raft

Because Jack doesn't exist, Rose made him up to escape form reality... well that's how I like to look at it.

After all no-one can prove that Jack existed.

It's not my favorite Cameron film, but the second half of it is some of the best filmmaking ever.

Cameron was truly the King of the world.

When I finally saw that I was like wtf? My sister had the 2 vhs's. It was right at the end of the first one. She would always tell me it was done before it came on. I snuck into her room and watched them when she was gone one day and saw it.

Had an obsession with the real Titanic as a kid, which led me to this film, which led me to James Cameron in general. Titanic was probably my first "adult" movie in theaters. I was 6 or 7 and I maintain an enormous fondness towards the film to this day. Like Avatar, it doesn't warrant all the hate. James Cameron uses familiar genres and formulas to do incredibly innovative things. His approach is more honest and romantic than deconstructive filmmakers like Tarantino... but he still knows how to tell a quality fucking story, and boy does he fill that canvas.

The 2nd highest grossing film of all time.

Avengers never had the same cultural impact as Ttaninc.

It's the most Titanic movie ever.
before watching this movie in widescreen, I never noticed that that second funnel (far left) was still in tact when the stern was in the air.

I love this fucking movie so much. And I can quote almost every scene, lol

"A WHORE TO A GUTTER RAT?!"
"I'd rather be his whore than your wife!"

BOOM, BITCH!

The movie is great. The last good Cameron movie imo. Avatar deserves to be bashed, whereas this movie doesn't. The ending is pretty creepy/scary when you consider it's based on real events... The ship stuff at least.

The ship breaking scene still scares the shit out of me. Bottomless ocean, drowning in closed spaces, freezing to death, being closed inside a ship while it sinks into the black oblivion... fucking hell mate.

This and The Abyss pretty much cemented Cameron as the practical effects king.

Dude just also happens to be the CG effects king at the same time.

Hard to find a better director when it comes to mastering and marrying all kinds of Visual Effects.

“Gentlemen, It Has Been a Privilege Playing with You Tonight” is one of my favorite memes.

Love Cameron's commentary track. Lots of detail about the film and the ship.

I was lucky/unfortunate enough to be able to see this 14 times in the theater. Blame lack of choices and a ticket being cheaper than a babysitter. I hated it for a long time after the eigth viewing (I was seriously rooting for the iceberg by then) but I admit seeing this so many times helped me understand the basics of filmmaking.

Is this a joke post? Because the ship in the photo is a large-scale model.

Yes

Oh ma lord.

This just makes me sad about James Horner all over again. Dude knocked this score out of the fucking park.

Calm down. I watched all the behind the scenes stuff when we got our first DVD player circa 99 or something like that.

That said, the RLM review is spot on. Cameron should stick to sci fi action movies.
