I don't know about this game anymore. I really want to just run through PVE with a couple buddies and not have to deal with assholes. You just know that there will be people who sit near extraction zones just to ambush people and grief them.

They literally took the exact same colors for engra, er, item classes as Destiny. You also have to turn them in to find out what you got? Where did they get that idea from lol.

I will wait for more impressions but this feels like a PVP gank-a-thon. Kinda upset, honestly.

You can't get ganked if you don't enter the PvP zone.

problem is, you will be missing on possibly the best loot in the game in the Dark Zone.....that's not really fun. If it was Dark Zone "only" gear or gear with more stats towards player character damage than npc damage I would be ok with that. Make it so you must earn your PvP gear in the dark zone for the arenas or whatever structured PvP modes there will be.
 
meh, might as well fix the problem before it happens. It's definitely going to be a problem, I would say more so on consoles. Don't know how many mmorpg's I played on PvP servers and I would say roughjly 70% of the people I ran across on the opposing faction will actually work with you despite in game language barriers to help get quests done. It's very cool to meet like minded players know that ganking isn't everything.

Ive actually learned alot playing with people from other cultures. Hoping to do the same with Division and Dragon's Dogma Online if it gets released state-side.

Thanks for the info OP. This all sounds good. Definitely still high on my radar, but still way out there. Can't wait to hear more impressions as more people get their hands on it and the beta.

With the potential for great disparity in player levels curious how that will play out in PvP scenarios, but also how much is PvP vs PvE.
 

Cant deal in absolutes when youre talking about freedom of choice. People will choose what they want to do. It can happen, it could happen, but that doesnt necessarily mean it will happen. Alot of people at E3 played together rather then against eachother.

I was really hoping this game would have some high level of PVP shenanigans. But now it seems like there is too many penalties for messing with people. :(

I would like to know if the gunplay is fluid and responsive. Are there also a good variety of areas or is it only urban (can get old quickly).

Gunplay feels very Clancy. Guns have significant weight to them. There is street urban, building interior, building exterior, verticality, as well as underground and sewers that have been revealed so far.
 
Why put money down at all. Pre-order, secure your Beta access, and cancel your pre-order all from your home in a few minutes. Why do people still not do this?

Exactly. This has been a thing since like 2007. Why people pre-order at GS, I don't know.

More on topic, I've been hyped on this game since it's reveal at E3 2013. After this last E3 though, I'm starting to lose a bit of hype. I'm still hoping the game turns out great, but I'm just not following it much now.

Ok, is the character also feels "heavy" ? I didn't play much Clancy's games, so should I expect a tank like in GTA or something more responsive ?

The tablet was actually a really cool idea. They just found it wasnt balanced well enough to fit what they wanted to accomplish. I just hope second screen support wasnt completely dropped. Id like to see a Battlelog style app for The Division, or maybe a Base of Operations metagame similar to Motherbase with MGSV.

I thought it was a good idea until I realized if I'm at home, I really would rather be playing my character than a support drone. Maybe it could have been used as an app for a buddy who didn't own the game but wanted to help out.

But I will take a good second screen app.
 
It was originally intended to be like Commander Mode from Battlefield. Playing a support role on the go, traveling sort of thing, but still gain experience towards your profile at home for doing so.

Dammit, that was one of the most interesting parts of the original <cough>"demo". (Right up there with car-door-shutting.) I thought I might be able to get my wife to join in on her tablet when I'm playing co-op with my two out-of-state buddies. She's hopeless with a controller.

Also, to the OP, the plural of bonus is "bonuses".

Added section on customization and skills.

Customization goes beyond just gear, modslots and clothing. The amount of backpacks I saw, actually by accident, alone was just mind boggling. An that was two years ago.

Hopefully we'll have chances to have multiple character slots. Would love to play as both a male or female sides, just like destiny.

I played about 15 minutes of a Dark Zone raid with 3 v 3 v 3 at the recent Toronto X15 event. The game plays much better than I expected; very fluid and solid controls, and the UI actually lives up to the hype videos thus far.

Honestly, my only negative feedback was that there really doesn't seem to be a strong enough incentive to not go rogue right before extraction. They need to fix that, otherwise every single extraction will end up like ours did: all out pvp warfare.

This is what I was afraid of. It's going to be lame when it happens every single time. There won't be any tension or anything because it'll just be an expected thing.

Yea. I feel like Kane and Lynch implemented this mechanic in multiplayer WAY better years ago.

Other than that, though, and the fact that the RPG abilities were a bit limited in the demo, I could see this being pretty huge. It's definitely on the caliber of Destiny as far as raw gameplay goes, imo.
