Tom Warren on Twitter: Xbox showcase & Starfield Direct will be 2 hours long. 'Probably'90 minutes for Xbox/ 30 minutes for Starfield

Two hours is nothing. Ive spent tens of hours over several days following E3. Lost sleep and skipped work sometimes.

This is just enough to chow down some snacks. And go online and bitch about the games afterwards.

Way too long, make it 30-45 minutes and then do an extra show like treehouse for the nerds. There is no way I am tuning in for a damn 2 hour show.

If they continue to show game after game after game, then I could sit and watch it for 8 hours. Just give me a beer in one hand, some snacks in the other, and let's see them roll through games, trailer, demos, and interviews. I love this shit.

I'll grab my popcorn, let's see what Xbox is cooking. Really hoping to have my mind blown by some tech showcase. Please, Microsoft, remember that you have an expensive 12TF machine, put them to good use.

If it's going to gamepass ad, all hope for something next-gen is gone. Even for third parties. It seems their e3 are just gamepass ads, and games that cater to a service don't go that far technically due to budget
All of MS' games will be on Gamepass, so their budget won't be impacted by it.
90 minutes is stretching it personally,

30 minutes of starfield
15-20 minutes indie
25-30 minutes first party and publishing
Remaining time (10-20 minutes) is other publishers
The 30 minutes on Starfield is separate from the other 90.

Not surprising. Xbox shows are usually around 90 minutes + 30 minutes for Starfield

I think we can count on Forza Motorsport (release date) being there. I really hope that Hellblade 2, Avowed and Contraband will get gameplay with release dates. Same for Stalker 2
I have hopes for Project Midnight and Project Cobalt and The Wandering Tower to at least being there.

But I honestly don't expect Everwild, State of Decay, Fable or Perfect Dark or new Gears game. New id game would be a nice surprise, same for new ZOS game (they are developing it for almost 5 years).

I would love for Xbox to show the Indiana Jones game, as the movie is coming out. That is one of the games I really am excited about.

MS closes the Activision and Blizzard deal and then buys Sega or Capcom.
They can buy Sega...personally I would rather Capcom be left alone.

Don't really care about the Acti/Blizz deal at all, very low impact on me (aside from Diablo 4 of course) but Capcom has a better pedigree in terms of game talent and I would rather that flower grow on it's own.

Show the fucking gameplay of games you announced years ago, in addition of Starfield and Forza.
And announce some others with gameplay (even a glimpse).

After 3 years of nothing, plus an entire generation of void, they HAVE TO to go big or go home. If they fill their show with gamepass AA titles I swear even the biggest fanboy will give up on them.

Too bad. This is America therefore we buy what we want.

This one had to be an absolute banger for ms or I think this gen is done with for them. They will probs only just shave passed xbox one sales if its anything less than stellar.

30 minutes of Starfield?

Not going to try to get too hyped up for this. I know half of it will be wasted by no-name indie fillers and multi-platform titles.

2 hours? Come on Xbox that's too long. An hour or maybe 90 mins max. Just show gameplay.
Don't watch it, then go through all the youtube videos of each game an hour after the show closes and pick the ones you want watch. I do that now for the Keighley Awards to avoid all the ads.

Same! Just have multiple screens up. Gaf on one, show on the other 😎 It will go by fast posting here at the same time!
Lol I did that in the past. It's always quite interesting to l watch something and then look here to see what the prevailing thoughts were about it.

This is the case with basically every ms conference since 2013 lol
Also they were never winning this gen. The install base of PlayStation is too high. They realised this a long time ago and are now focused on subscription numbers. They just continue to make the Xbox for the enthusiasts.

As someone that only has a PS console...you guys are lucky as fuck.

I wish Sony would give me a 2 hour conference with an update on most of their internal studios, lmao.

Im sure some you complaining are perfectly able to watch a movie or read something or follow a presentation for two hours. Or spend all day and night on forums. But when E3 time comes along, the one time of the year with blowout shows and late cheesy nights watching footage over and over again, its suddenly too much for you? L m a o.

I just think there are better ways of doing studio updates etc. like the developer showcase at the start of the year. Tell us in advance what studios and what games we are getting a developer update on. This showcase is like their e3. It should be the big surprise stuff. I don't care about what dlc is coming to Indie games or games we already played.

The Xbox showcase will likely be 90 mins and the dedicated Starfield direct 30.

I think we really do need a big chunk for Starfield so they can, hopefully, go over the games mechanics, leveling, skills, traversal etc. And keep all that away from the main show case so that can be dedicated for other games.

I'm not saying beat Sony. I'm saying claw back to have a better gen this time.

Once I got the xbox hardware I was convinced they would hit 70 to 75 mill this time with Sony at about 100 mill but due to a lacklustre 2 years of software releases I'm questioning if ms will reach that number.
