What? Reborn? As a traumatized brutal mass-murderer?

Can’t wait for the positive reviews and good sales to roll in.....the rage will be entertaining to see. This will be the game to make Lara Croft relevant again. Don't like the new direction the series is going in? Then piss off. Tomb Raider is no longer for you.

You remember what I told you not more than a week ago?

With the way you have been behaving and treating other people's suggested criticisms, I don't think you've earned the "privilege" to create this game's OT. I apologize if I'm being rude, but your behaviour has unfortunately dragged the level of discussion on Neogaf in regards to Tomb Raider down several notches. I am not talking about your disagreements, but the way you present and convey your arguments.

It would be nice if you in the future thought a bit more on how you responded to people you disagree with, or how you set up threads in order to foster good and productive discussion. It would not only help the level of quality on Neogaf, but also help your position much, much more. :)

Seems like you completely forgot about it.

Everything about this game looks appealing to me, so Im pretty excited.

Loved classic TR as well CDs efforts, but im still looking forward to the direction this game is taking.

Getting it day 1. Lara Croft is mai waifu.

Come at me haterz.. I want to throw my pick axe through skulls and gain XP while crafting a beastly new bow that will let me kill 2 deers at once. Visceral.

Crystal Dynamics is a solid dev. The game seems to be a pretty big production too, so I'm hoping that good gameplay and good production values will be enough to make it a good game.

We'll see how they handle the story, and the exploration side of the game.

What video game protagonist isn't a mass murderer? I think you're in the wrong hobby.

Damn it all those poor pixels, where's the humanity??

Goomba genocide hitler Mario smh ;(

Man you really need Revengeance/Bayonetta 2. I thought DMC being awful only affected my sanity, boy was I wrong.

We should let Crystal Dynamics reboot Zelda. It would be so epic man.

Nah man Ninja Theory deserves Zelda. They are the quintessential developers of action/adventure games for the Western audience.

Red headed Zelda and Link with a smoking habit and shouting expletives at enemies would make me pre-order it day 1.

I am mostly interested in this title because the lead writer was on Heavenly Sword. I am really hoping this game turns out well.

Its a universal truth that people hate change until they experience it for the most part. In the end this series needs to evolve, just like other series needed to evolve, and hopefully it will be successful but maybe it wont be. But the tomb raider of old was essentially dead. I remember the backlash Underworld got for being more of the same and everyone wanted a real reboot. Its unfortunate a lot of this game gets hate because of marketing missteps that have caught on and became their own thing.

Interesting. Hopefully TR delivers on the narrative excellence and rich characters seen in Heavenly Sword. This game has Ninja Theory's blessing so it's going to be fine.

I don't know... the prospect of Link burying a blade into some monster's skull while blood and gore splashes everywhere (on the screen even!) and the camerawork is all dramatic and epic. And, like, you can fast travel around the world (probably to cover up the fact the game can't actually move in any direction besides forward, but whatever it's cool) and there will be all kinds of cutscenes and Link's dialog will be really badass but also remorseful. Cover him in blood and mud. And his life meter, instead of cartoon hearts, they could be like real, bloody hearts that pump, but die when you take damage. Good thing they regen though. And fuck the green outfits man, that shit is kiddy. I mean, yeah okay maybe the OG fans will be all pissy about losing the water temple, because you know... swimming... but hey what they're doing with narrative is worth it. And anyway, I bet waypoints would be really hard to understand if you had a complex multilayerd temple like that. Make them more accessible, just one floor, and probably just start you off with the map and compass as soon as you enter. Add it right to the HUD. Oh yeah, btw I forgot to mention this is a modern game. Because bows are really trending atm, but sword and shield is a little too oldschool. Modern setting we can do a bow and guns. (See we're keeping the bow, this is still Link OG fans!) We need the guns to help players collect XP and fill the bars faster. Did I mention the brutal stealth kills? You know, want to give the players the illusion of freedom when approaching our linear, scripted-to-shit combat scenarios that have replaced the adventuring these games were once known and loved for.

Oh yeah... how could I forget to mention multiplayer!!!!!!!!!!

I would get it day 1. Zelda has gotten stale at this point and is just riding on archaic mechanics. Series was always too obtuse and frustrating. Puzzles need to be replaced by auto platforming.

Too good! Your sardonic tone is a work of art! Ninja Theory taking over every franchise!

What's worse, "trolling" or coming off as a SE employee in some of these threads?

Cmon now this is tricky.

Tricky either holds this game near and dear or just perhaps he's he is a agent of the Crystal Dynamics.

As for this game, I feel a bit guilty that i'm going to get it day one but ehh...whatever.

Nah man DmC has shown me the light. All those franchises I loved over the years were only tolerable because of the technological limitations of the time... I have taken off my rose tinted glasses and see them for what they are. Before DmC I didn't even know that DMC4 was stale. After seeing new Tomb Raider I can't go back to Boob Raider anymore, its too shallow with low production values.

This isn't evolution, though. If it was an evolution, there would be something resembling the old games in it's design. There isn't. This game just throwing out everything that defined the original series and just appropriating the name on a mediocre Uncharted clone.

No, but I gifed this:

Man... what happened to the days of health bars, getting jam in your eyes is a sucky replacement. I guess I can almost kind of get it for first person games, but it's especially bad in a third person game.
It's just lazy and seems like poor design when they have the opportunity to use the character getting hurt as the primary visual representation of how much health you have left. Why does the screen have to get all jammed up? I want to see the character getting battered when they take damage, I'm not the one getting hit, don't obscure my vision of the game damn it.

Obviously this is not specific to Tomb Raider, but whatever, just wanted to say my peace.

YES! So freaking excited!

Kinda glad I bailed out on doing the OT. Why bother going to all that trouble just to have the usuals bitter suspects shit it up. Seriously, some of you guys need to ease up in Tomb Raider threads, its getting ridiculous now to the point of it being borderline trolling. Eh, whatever – I’m super excited and counting down the days. Can’t wait for the positive reviews and good sales to roll in.....the rage will be entertaining to see. Nah, Tomb Raider fans have seen dark times before:

I miss health bars too.

But apparently new annoying whiny Laura doesn't need med packs, she rather keep herself bloodied.
