Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam Screens WII!

Wow, looks like this thread has reached new levels of stupidity.

Yes, lets comment on wii based on 'Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam' screens. Brilliant.

Wait till tomorrow people.

Um.. its entirely possible for a PS3 game to look like this.

Say it with me now...
Its called LAZY AND INEPT DEVELOPERS.

Ha, they've been working on GC dev kits for five or six years, there's really no excuse. :lol :lol :lol

edit: I see we have yet another Nintendo fan in denial here. Have fun with lancubap and DefectiveReject in defending every shitty thing about the Wii.

I said wow.

Then I looked at the little photos of people playing the game. Holy bejeezus, but I don't want to have to twist and contort like that!

How much you wanna bet that after the first year, "Waggle Wand"-style play starts to diminish in favor of traditional control? Or will Wii games support conventional control as an option?

Tony Hawk was never a graphical showcase title for a system, but I don't know what to think of this. Probably looks better in the end.

Let loose the photoshop hounds of war. Espeically on the guy who looks like he's crapping his pants.

This having to show people playing the game side by side is really going to cripple the "wow" factor of their advertising campaign. I'll admit though, dated graphics aside, downhill skateboarding / skiing / ball rolling sounds interesting using the wii controller.

Wouldn't the Wii and PSP version look the same anyway?
No, because PSP can do widescreen. :lol

I know Wii can do widescreen. It's a feature when Nintendo does it... Wiiscreen. :D

Hey how is this a Tony Hawk game? It doesn't look like it has free roaming skatable enviroments.

Well in this game you can't even skate in free-roaming environments. You just go downhill.

Yes indeed, Wii is the gaming revolution we've all been waiting for.

Looks great. Exponentially better than anything on Xbox 360, IMHO.

Its a call to its original roots. Tony Hawk on the dreamcast consisted of you going downhill trying to get items and stuff while racking up the most points doing tricks.

I like the trend of showing wii games with people playing them, like we need to be shown why the game will be good or something :lol

I was expecting much worse from these reactions. I'd say it isn't a huge graphical leap from a good gamecube game, but that could be due to factors besides hardware.

Isn't this a new developer?

:lol stupid GAF reactions

Wait for non-Tony Hawk graphics to judge the system
Don't you know about the Tony Hawk scale? The PS2 had Tony Hawk 3, a significant upgrade from Tony Hawk 2. Making it about a 9 on the Tony Hawk scale. The Xbox 360 had American Wasteland which was pretty lame, but I looked better than AM on the Xbox. Now the Wii has Downhill Jam. Which looks like it would be possible on the Commodore 64.

The Tony Hawk Scale
10-PS1
9-PS2
8-N64
7-Xbox
6-
5-Xbox360
4-
3-
2-
1-Wii

Apparently you didn't see GUN and Tony Hawk for Xbox 360 last year. Unfortunately, Activision doesn't seem to put too much effort into their launch titles.

However, this is unexcusable. It looks worse than last gen.

Hay guys remember when tony hawk really showed off the 360's graphics!
Different situation. Entirely.

The 360 title was a DIRECT port of a game created with the PS2 as its base. This seems to be an entirely different game from the next console outing (which looks quite nice) rather than a port. As such, one would expect something beyond this. I mean, judging from those screens, THPS3 stomps a hole in it and even THPS2 on the DC might look better (at least sports better textures).

This looks like absolutely garbage.

"Cant say when we got them, but had for a long time. Hardware is spectacular, exceeded expectations." - oh, they were talking about Wii

Calm down junior thats just GAF havin its fun. Once the non-shit lookin games are shown then sanity will sink in but for now we must feast on the wiitards weakness and thats their love of DS TEXTURES!

On like one level!! The whole premise of Tony Hawk is that you skate anywhere. This is just a snowboarding game with a better license.

I guess we will find out tomorrow if this is the exception, or the norm.

It better be the exception

God I hope it is
