Or maybe not because every time I watch a show it gets announced for toonami a month later. What are the chances baccano ends up on the block?

No reason I can think of why it wouldn't show up eventually. Most other high profile already licensed stuff has had a shot on TOONAMI.

unfortunately, i don't think Baccano screams anything other than "this will completely tank if we show it weekly to Adult Swim viewers"

The best way I can describe it is that it's a very fun watch. Maybe not the best story, or the best characters, but its very entertaining through and through.
