I don't like One Piece. Bleach is my second favorite show on the block behind Space Dandy.

Yeah I've seen/read DBZ a bunch of times so the appeal of it coming to Toonami isn't really there, will be interesting to see what replaces AoT though. Or is Gurren Laggan the replacement for that?
DBZ Kai is in many ways not for the diehard fans.
It is going to be the first time it has aired UNCUT in the US...which is actually a pretty big deal for a lot of people at home. It is also different enough to be interesting to those who only saw DBZ when it first aired.

I still think the power levels with that filler fight don't make any sense. I get that its a comedy segment but I don't think the math quite works out.
That filler was Toriyama's idea, actually.

Power levels are bullshit anyways.
They are and they aren't. They're directly related to the durability of the fighters so it's not like early Naruto where most everyone is basically human when it came to durability and you could actually get the jump on someone stronger than you.

I kinda liked it. It didn't try to be some epic legendary type thing, it was a decent enough summer movie. It's the sort of thing that's going to be on TV all the time eventually. It was fun, I had fun, sometimes that's all you need.
How much you like it will depend on your expectations. If you go in expecting them to adapt his 12 labors then you'll hate it. If you go in expecting The Rock to punch guys through walls and wreck shit, you'll have fun.
From the dozen or so episodes I've seen, it's not that special, IMO. Honestly, the only shounen stuff I read/watch is Bleach/Shokugeki no Soma. Now Soma needs a damn anime!
I thought the premise was the only good part of the movie. It was really smart, and far more interesting than an actual adaptation of the labors.
EVERYTHING ELSE in the movie was terrible. The CG was bad (those snakes in the beginning of the movie looked like mid 90s CG), the action sucked and lacked any impact, and on the whole, it was just a soleless, boring movie. It's the Shenmue of movies- an interesting premise destroyed by mindlessly boring gameplay/action.
I love Rock's acting career, but he deserves so much better than this shit.

So I got spoiled about an AoT character earlier today in a VA Q&A panel (and it was spoiled in a shipping question. A FUCKING SHIPPING QUESTION), and decided to later attend a AoT panel cause why the fuck not (some of the spoilery stuff that was mentioned I'll probably forget...maybe)

So at work today another employee walked up to me and asked if I had seen GotG yet, I said no and he started to go on about his favorite scene in the movie, I yelled "SPOILERS NO" putting my hands on my head and jumping below the register
He then grabbed the bells and now you're officially a team with Sakura.
I don't entirely disagree, but The Rock was absolutely perfect in the role and that made the movie for me. I'm not going to go off and see it again, I won't buy the DVD, but if I see it on TV and there's nothing I really want to watch then I'll totally watch it again.
It was a B-movie, with an A-movie star and premise. I won't disagree that there was a SHIT TON of wasted potential, but I had fun.
