Vice Admiral Garp previously appeared in episodes 68 and 69. And THAT'S IT.
Just keep that in mind.
Oh hey the Marines.
Zoro pls.
I definitely don't disagree with the poor plot planning as it especially gets worse as you get through the show, but even then as a side character in a show with dozens of them he still gets much more character development and scenes than any other. And two years really isn't that long for shonen time lol.
Why not use the door?! It was right there!
OMG, GARP D. LUFFY?!?
Also random thought- nearly captured isn't anything of note. That just means you did the anime thing of failing but found the person before you failed.
OMG, GARP D. LUFFY?!?
Monkey D. Garp actuallyOMG, GARP D. LUFFY?!?
OMG, GARP D. LUFFY?!?
Zoro shouldn't be allowed anywhere without a chaperon.
And let the revelations begin! It's world building time, motherfuckers!
That's right, fuckos. Luffy is, in fact, the grandson of one of the top dogs in the Marines.
This dumbass didn't just...spawn from the bowels of the earth?! HE ACTUALLY HAS A FAMILY? WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE!
It's not super long for a shonen, but the impact it should have is lost due to Shikamaru's lack of role between the two arcs where he gets major plot development. It's still effective it just could have been more effective.
And wait until you learn more about his family.
I dont remember those kids from the mangaNah, this is a legit call-back.
