What if I told you the next arc won't begin until year's end....
What? So what's after this?

The next major arc is one of the weaker ones but man does it have its moments. Particularlythe best Usopp fight.
JUST A NORMAL GUY WITH ROPES.
Agreed, anything with foxy is the worst
All those marines are just standing there...
Dragon Ball Z used and abused Magical Bring Everyone Back To Life BallsDBZ was never afraid of collateral damage.
This is way too asspull for me to accept
DBZ was never afraid of collateral damage.

First time watching One Piece? This isn't even close to the most crazy shit people survived from in this series.
I mean, someone actually survived a point blank nuke.
Nobody dies in One Piece. It does kind of undercut dramatic moments, not because people don't die but because Oda thinks that "killing" them and then bringing them back is supposed to be shocking for the 200th time. But people still fall for it I guess.
Yeah this series should be more like AgK andjust rack up the body count, probably kill a strawhat or two while they save robin
Yeah but whenever he decides to really kill someone it'll have a huge impact

Why is this so melodramatic. Luffy is spent. How is that shocking?
There is a happy medium between EVERYBODY dies and NOBODY dies.
I actually like that One Piece doesn't throw around deaths like crazy. It makes it way more impactful when it actually DOES happen.
Compare the major deaths in One Piece to the ones in DBZ. It's super impactful in One Piece while it's pretty much trivial in DBZ.

I believe in all honesty that the filler arc is the worst in the series.
Uh. So, I'm legitimately interested to see how the hell they're supposed to get out of this.
DBZ was never afraid of collateral damage.
Oda gets a lot better at avoiding hyping up his non-deaths after this point. This is the last major asspull I can remember for deaths.Nobody dies in One Piece. In dragon ball they did when Demon King piccolo destroyed the dragon balls.Dragon Ball never pretended its deaths were permanent though.
You don't need fakeout #351358 for real death #1, 2 or 3 to be meaningful.
Their two minute promo for Techi Muyo made it look legitimately like an amazing Sci Fi fantasy action show.Toonami is gdlk at making every show look awesome.
first episode left no impact on me so hope this groupwatch would change that.
DBZ had a different problem, death actually meant something in the early days, but by the time of the end of the Namek saga, death became a really cheap currency.
The best example is still (future manga spoilers)Bon Clay in Impel Down. I was 100% ready to accept his death in that amazing scene, his living weakens it.
