Oda gets a lot better at avoiding hyping up his non-deaths after this point. This is the last major asspull I can remember for deaths.
*thinks* That sounds about right.
Unless it's revealed Vergo and Monet survived... which they probably did

DBZ had a different problem, death actually meant something in the early days, but by the time of the end of the Namek saga, death became a really cheap currency.

Their two minute promo for Techi Muyo made it look legitimately like an amazing Sci Fi fantasy action show.

The MC of Akame Ga Kill sounds hilarious.
Yes, it's for OVA though it uses some bits of Universe.Link to that promo I dunno if I ever saw it? Or are you talking about classic Tenchi?
Oh right, forgot about Sanji.
Man, he sure likes to disappear and then return out of nowhere/
I actually like that One Piece doesn't throw around deaths like crazy. It makes it way more impactful when it actually DOES happen.
Compare the major deaths in One Piece to the ones in DBZ. It's super impactful in One Piece while it's pretty much trivial in DBZ.
I understand, but I don't feel like calling for blood here would make this arc better.
Shooting at their own guys now?
These Navy guys are giving less and less fucks.
They ain't hesitating with those team kills.
I imagine those nameless Marines died
Well, random ass marines are still good enough to kill.
Holy shit, the marines stopped giving a fuck.
EVERYTHING DIES NOW
I still refuse to believe that people willingly join the Marines as grunts.
