Toriko is proof positive that you really can't push something on people when they don't really want it, no matter how good you are at marketing similar hits.

TOEI really, really tried with Toriko as well, constantly pairing it with One Piece and then it had that special with One Piece and DBZ to boot and it get canned in favor of the Kai Buu arc.

Shokugeki no Soma totally beats Toriko in terms of cooking anime/manga.

....Toriko IS a cooking series, right?

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Not really...
Cooking is a part of it, but it's more about big muscled guys beating up crazy big animals to feast on their flesh.
It's a standard Shonen manga with food as a backdrop. Even the big Chef tournament was mostly an obstacle course.

There is cooking, but we largely see naturally good food and/or the end results of cooking. It's more of an action series where the opponents are a mix of humanoids with weird powers and wild animals.

Too bad Toriko can't cook up an audience.

........also now I'm reminded that Fighting Foodons was a thing that existed.

Oh so basically One Piece right now.

Well, the wild animals are actual boss fights instead of scrubs. Like, there are ones the size of continents. (for how this is possible,
it's revealed that the planet the series takes place on is actually the size of Jupiter, and humans have only colonized an area about the size of Earth
)

You've seen the big/tragic news yes?

You mean Iwata's passing?

Holy cow. I can't even believe it's real even after seeing all of the articles and videos about it.
I thought he was fully recovered after his surgery a few months ago, but....wow.
It's a big blow for Nintendo and the gaming industry, that's for sure.

Hmm... so thousands more people watched our Lord and Savior Kirito do an intervention and initiating Sinon into the harem than Michiko & Hatchin...

Can't tear your eyes away man.

So this is totally a lock for Toonami right

Probably, though at this point with Sentai in the mix and all 4 companies having upcoming shows that are probably coming (Funimation has Tokyo Ghoul, Viz has Sailor Moon Crystal, Sentai has Ushio & Tora, Aniplex has F/SN UBW) along with their back log which all 4 have shows that could easily be Toonami bound if we look back to shows that have aired in the past 5-7 years and are now dubbed.

Well, Sailor Moon Crystal seems to be locked up with Hulu for the foreseeable future. But don't forget JoJo.

Oh yeah, probably won't see it for a few years yet depending upon the hulu deal. And yeah JoJo is a lock unless it also has a hulu/netflix dub exclusive thing.

In Dubbed anime on TV News...

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...chiller-runs-anime-block-on-wednesdays/.90499

American cable and satellite channel Chiller announced on Tuesday that it will begin showing a new programming block of supernatural and horror anime on Wednesdays named Anime Wednesdays. The block will run from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Chiller previously ran an anime programming block in 2009, showing Tokko, Sword for Truth, and Descendants of Darkness. The channel has also previously aired Blood: The Last Vampire, Vampire Wars, and Ninja Scroll.

The block's schedule is as follows:

Is This a Zombie?, 12:00 a.m.
Tokyo Majin, 12:30 a.m.
Devil May Cry, 1:00 a.m.
Black Blood Brothers, 1:30 a.m.

The first season of the Is This a Zombie? TV anime originally aired in Japan in January 2011. In the show, a normal high school boy named Ayumu Aikawa gets killed during a spate of mysterious serial killings. However, Ayumu is resurrected as a zombie by a necromancer girl named "Yū" (Eucliwood Hellscythe), who Ayumu had just met before dying. Ayumu then accidentally deprives the magical girl Haruna of her powers, so she demands that Ayumu take her place in fighting her enemy Megalo. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan, and Funimation released the DVD of the series in North America in December 2012, and the Blu-ray in March 2014.

The first season of the Tokyo Majin TV anime originally aired in Japan in January 2007. The story is set in Tokyo, where mysterious deaths involving the 'Reborn Dead' occur. Mysterious transfer student, Tatsuma Hiyuu, and delinquent student, Kyouichi Houraiji, fight these undead every night. They, along with the rest of their group, soon realize that a greater threat, that involves even more powerful demons, is near. Funimation released the series on DVD in North America in 2008.

The Devil May Cry TV anime originally aired in Japan in June 2007, and is based on CAPCOM's Devil May Cry action game franchise. The anime follows the adventures of the demon hunter Dante, who himself is half demon and half human. Dante is hired through his own business named "Devil May Cry". The characters are based off of the popular CAPCOM playstation 2 games. Funimation released the series on DVD and Blu-ray in North America in 2009.

The Black Blood Brothers TV anime originally aired in Japan in September 2006. The story centers around Mochizuki Jirou a lone hero who fought and defeated the Kowloon Children despite the loss of his lover. He returns to Japan with his young brother, Mochizuki Kotaro. The two quickly discover that the Kowloon Children who survived are seeking to infiltrate the “Special Zone”—a thriving city protected by an invisible barrier that will not allow Kowloon Children entrance—unless they're invited. Red Bloods refer to the humans; Black Bloods are the vampires, and the Mochizuki Brothers are Old Blood—the last descendants of an elite clan of vampires. When Kotaro is abducted by one of the Kowloon Children, Jirou has no choice but to fight once more. Funimation released the series on DVD in North America in 2008, and it debuted in American television on the FUNimation Channel in 2009.

LOL IS THIS A ZOMBIE. Screw it, I might check it out to rewatch it but dubbed. Fun fact: The main character is the same VA who did young Iceburg in One Piece.

*checks Dish, doesn't have the channel*

Lol I've never heard of Chiller before.

My Comcast doesn't have it here. Apparently everyone else does (U-Verse, DirecTV, and Dish).
