At this point, I feel Inuyasha is a parody of anime. The constant exposition feels like those College Humor parodies you see
Though I think Inuyasha IS the one that inspired them.
I know Jojo has it (because the manga did all the time) but at least it gets away with it thanks to be cool as fuck.
