They didn't have any confidence in this show lasting more than 26 episodes. Hence the first 26 episodes have two recaps, censoring and skips backstory.
The show gets a lot better after that. They realized it was going to last and stopped appealing to such a young age.
I thought that was the case. It is kind of funny the series is so packed with content but the recap episodes are frontloaded and then it is all canon.

There's 2 recap episodes in the entire series and they're both in the first arc. Next one is episode 26 I believe.

I wasn't to sure about the voice before, but it's fitting for Genos. He's acts awkwardly when he's around other people and when he's paired up with Saitama.i forgot to mention this earlier.
I don't know what Genos' JPn voice sounds like. And it may not fit his 'cool' design, but Genos' semi-robotic English voice seems comedically appropriate if he's as socially inept as he was in 2nd episode.

These recap episodes aren't even in the blu ray releases from what I've heard. Pretty sure we're getting the broadcast episodes and not the home video versions.

There's some small edits here and there but nothing crazy. It's the same for the most part.
I'm more worried about what it means for future Viz shows though. Imagine if we get the TV versions of JoJo with black bars everywhere lol.
