As Metatron mentioned, this is probably the most important non-Straw Hat episode of the entire series. The narrator did not lie when he said this was a catalyst for a major event. Back then, we didn't realize where this would go. It took a while to get there, but the payoff was so good.
Any more details would be spoilers.
... I'm not looking forward to next week. Gotta be honest, this is the only filler arc I have not watched. I'm actually going in with fresh eyes. At least it's the last stretch of filler that's more than 3-4 episodes. Then again... the pacing took a hit because of it.

I...remember a surprising amount of the originals plot, and next to nothing of Shinovi Versus' (that is to say, there isn't too much)
I'll give them that though. For that style of game, it had a very surprising amount of plot backing it.
