For some reason, I've never been annoyed with how inconsistant Gamagoori's size was. Maybe it's because they're consistant with how inconsistant it is.

I mean its one of his gimmicks and an intentional source of comedy. As you say, his size doesn't vary wildly because the animators are incompetent - its all according to plan.

The fact it's used for comedy probably plays a role as well.

& now begins the looonngggg 3 week wait for new episodes & Samurai Champloo returning to Adult Swim/premiering on Toonami.

lazybones18: She missed the girls, all is alright! I'm surprised she didn't even... look for the arm or something.

Line_HTX:
Thanks a lot, and for the reply to the earlier preview tonight, too! :) I hope I did Hatchin some justice, lol. I went from wanting her normal proportions to going a bit western toon exaggerated. I don't like the way her legs came out, but I like how Michiko came out more than I expected to. The mix of feelings!

Gamagoori sitting by and popping up Mako reminds me of hitting a POW block in Mario.

Welp, I'll just add that grown up Hatchin turned out to be fucking awesome. Also, I would've just ended the show after the fade to black. No need to see that embrace. M&H wasn't excellent throughout all its length, but I'm still gonna miss it and especially Hatchin.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Good morning everyone. Thus we arrive from the last Toonami of the year.

Dragon Ball Z Kai:
Another episode where Toei has no clue how to title it. They mention Shenron, but he doesn't show up until the last second, with the wish happening in the next episode.
More fighting, I think this was like 3 episodes in original DBZ.

Intruder II:
A solemn farewell to The Absolution. You served the many TOMs well.
Man, I wonder what's going to happen now. TOM all by himself, wounded, no ship, no SARA.

Akame ga Kill:
Speaking of fighting... fighting.... fighting... fighting...
"I'm about ready to kill me a bitch!" was the highlight.

Parasyte:
Yuko, you are the biggest dumbass. You learn there's killer aliens walking among us, realize that the hot new kid is one of them, and your plan is to confront him ALONE with only a bottle of acid. One hell of a way to end the year... "THAT SON OF A BITCH!"

Naruto Shippuden:
FROGGY SONG!

One Piece:
We get a scene of canon, but it's all downhill from there. Man, the art is just awful this episode. You can tell Oda wasn't involved.

Michiko & Hatchin (overview):
... I wanted to like this series, I thought it had the makings of a hidden gem. Beautiful animation, great music, and a rare locale for an animated show (the seedy Brazil underbelly). But the writing and characters is where it falls flat. This series should have been like 12 or 13 episodes, not 22. Hatchin is the only likable main character. I didn't really care for Atsuko, especially when plot armor made her release Michiko multiple times. Michiko herself is an idiot, she has the means to be an intelligent and strong lead but her IQ drops 50 points when Hiroshi is involved. And what the hell is so great about HIroshi anyway? That so many people would die over him. He's a scumbag, and even Hatchin didn't care when he ran away only a few months after reuniting. At least Satoshi was an enjoyable villain, mostly helped by his excellent voice acting. That's another thing I'll praise, Funimation did an amazing job with the writing and voice work. They'll likely put extra effort into as its not one of their softcore porn series. Monica Rial showed impressive range playing Michiko.

Overall, could have been so much better if trimmed or written differently. But at least it's a feast for the eyes and ears.

I sort of get the feeling that a lot of shows they want to air are suddenly unavailable due to either being too expensive or getting bought up by streaming sites.

Well, in this case it is more they tried to grab something they could never, ever air and needed a replacement quickly and Samurai Champloo fit their criteria.
