Toonami |Oct/Nov/Dec16| A Bacchanalia of Blood

Still, I'd like it nowhere else but here. Nick had its chance to keep the dragonball franchise and they stopped advertising Kai mid-androids saga and moved it to a timeslot to let it quietly die.

Toonami is Dragonball's home for TV.

Dragon Ball Super wouldn't even need much censoring on Nick. Series is very tame these days.

Nicktoons still had stupid rules like they couldn't say die and they would cut out punches in the face. Not to mention when there was blood, they would color it orange and other weird edits.

I would hope if any kid's network got it CN would since they are a lot tamer on stuff like that.

So the people over at the |OT| for DBS seem pretty convinced that were not gonna get Super because of merchandising that was leaked sometime back and instead think its gonna go to a kids channel like Nick.

That'd be a pretty hard blow for us if we lost Super to Nick or something, not to mention seeing it butchered to shit would hurt.

While I could see Nick giving another go at a DB show, I still think that Toonami will acquire DBS down the road.

The merch was toys, right? Assuming Toei is still in charge of certain things, I can see a kids network grabbing it.

This is the HARDEST speculation, but FUNimation did say they have casting AND broadcast details to announce later. So, someone's getting it...

Only thing we can hope for is a uncut version after the Buu Saga. I think it's best case scenario for getting it on Toonami. There's also still a chance for it to be Amazon, or Netflix exclusive as well, so keep your eyes on that as well

Im personally gonna watch it as soon as it's on Funimation Streaming tbh.

Nick would putter out advertisement for Super after a few weeks and eventually shuffle it around to like early Sunday mornings or some shit. Most networks don't know how to handle anime that's not already tied to games, cards, or toys.

If Netflix grabbed exclusive rights to Dragon Ball Super dub, then that would be a massive slap-in-the-face moment for us.

Same thing happened with Disney XD and Naruto: Shippuden. The network wanted the broadcasting rights to the series because of how popular the property was but then got super squemish as it got progressively more violent.

You could tell that no one at Disney XD had ever watched a single episode of Naruto. They just saw something popular and jumped.

Disney XD watching Shippuden right after acquiring it:

"Alright this seems okay so far DOES THAT GUY HAVE A CLAY SPEWING MOUTH HAND"

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Shippuden got to Episode 97 on Disney XD, ending in the middle of a filler arc.
They sat on the rights, hoping that Toonami wouldn't get them. As you can see, they weren't successful and now we're farther than they got.

That's basically the story of 4Kids and One Piece.
"Alright this seems good so far IS HE POINTING A GUN AT THAT KID'S HEAD?!"
Then it got worse... sooooo much worse.

Debating making a thread in Off-Topic, but at the same time, I fear it'll "backfire" on me, so might as well post about it here since I had another issue with the neighbor below me knocking last night & I posted about this last month. I did pretty much NOTHING different compared to 5 weeks ago when it originally happened. Just sat on my couch playing my PS4, got a shower, made some breakfast, then about 5 minutes after getting my waffles & toast made, heard my door buzzer & it was the neighbor again.

I explained "I don't think it's me. I was just sitting on my couch, then was making breakfast, the same thing I do each weekend I have work off. I know what it's like living underneath noisy people, & I wanted the top floor to not risk waking up while sleeping in the day due to someone upstairs being noisy" and, again, she was very calm & seemed to be understanding. At this point, we just both want to know what's going on, because I don't want to be disruptive to my neighbors and she just wants to know what exactly is the noise, & she only thinks it's me due to staying up all night & having my lights on.

I don't know why after 5 weeks of this originally happening & not changing a single thing I normally do on my nights off, this was brought up again. My only guess is that the kitchen floor is noisier compared to walking on carpet, but again, I pretty much didn't do anything different. It certainly isn't the TV or the water heater after I take a shower. Not to mention at 3 a.m., the smoke alarm went off once for some reason. Thanks to my awful habit of overthinking, it's been a pain trying to figure out why this is happening.

Sorry to rant off-topic, it's just bugging me since I'm someone who never wants to cause any problems & I fear if it happens again, the office lady who originally took my side might start siding with the neighbor.

Ask your neighbour to record the sound if they can? And work from there.
Might try that. When I originally talked to the office lady, she said that sounds can "echo" through the buildings & after explaining it, she was on my side & figured I wasn't the cause.

Originally, I thought the neighbor lived diagonally below me, so I asked which one she lived in & she said the one that actually is below me. I don't fault her for thinking it's me since I always have a light on when I'm in the living room & she said it sounded "overhead', but again, considering my night off habits haven't changed (in fact, I take longer showers on Monday mornings to shave, which usually results in the water heater making more noises, despite not being really loud, but this time, it was much quicker, so it's not that).

At the very least, I was much more prepared instead of instantly thinking "omg it must've been me, who else would be up right now?" & explained to my neighbor what I explained to the office. Plus I got the feeling that she probably didn't want to accuse me (she even said something among the lines of "I don't wanna be accusing you, but...") but I was the only one whose apartment had visible signs of someone being awake.

I don't feel as bad compared to last time, but considering I'm kind of mentally exhausted from three playthroughs of Everyone's Gone to the Rapture, a co-worker once again trying to force his game fanboyism onto me despite having more knowledge about why games don't get ported to other consoles, & possibly being sick, just glad I was able to vent a bit here since I feel better knowing it'll be read by those who know me better compared to those who post in Off-Topic.

See: Fist of the North Star

Exploding bodies with guts bursting from punching someone so hard? TOTALLY OKAY FOR KIDS!

This and Jojo
You all saw Dio rip a guys head in half, as well as throw a man so hard he made everyone else explode into pieces.
PERFECT FOR KIDS!

Hell, Jojo remained a kids manga well into the Heisei era, up until the 24th or 25th chapter of Steel Ball Run. After that it moved to a monthly Seinen magazine where the violence got even more graphic.

Haha, was gonna say, Part 1 was release in '87, & we all saw what happened to Jonathan's dog, which was MORE GRAPHIC in the manga.
