No lie, Talho (pinchy cheeks chick) is incredibly awesome. Although her redesign later on is pretty lame (not the outfit really, both her outfits are pretty lame, but her hair.)

Yeah, I don't get the comparisons (that are favorable to Shinji.)

Shinji was the forefather of the "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOR" whiny emo protagonist.

Renton is at least an optimist 80% of the time even when he's getting his ass kicked. Sure, optimism can be annoying sometimes but I felt it was refreshing considering otherwise I was expecting another Shinji.

Shinji almost destroyed the world just to save a girl. He knew this too. He just didn't give a fuck.
Shinji may be a crybaby bitch coward, but he gets shit done when it counts.
