For all the martial arts crap they show, it really just seems like a bunch of sitting in a cockpit with controllers and at most moving your upper body. I mean even the cat controls...something in those cockpits.

You do need to stay in shape - if you want to pilot for more than one race. Andrei has no intention of piloting for more than one race. He's going to get jostled around like a tin can, and hope that he doesn't get poured out like diced tomatoes after the race is over.
