Watched the entire stage earlier, what a great win by Pinot! Was really rooting for him to make it rather than seeing another win by major GC contenders. My favourite thing of his win was the manager shifting between cheering, shouting and celebrating in the car. It was awesome.

Shame about Sammy Sanchez though :(((

Wiggins responds to doping accusations:

“I say they’re just fucking wankers. I cannot be doing with people like that.

It justifies their own bone-idleness because they can’t ever imagine applying themselves to do anything in their lives.

It’s easy for them to sit under a pseudonym on Twitter and write that sort of shit, rather than get off their arses in their own lives and apply themselves and work hard at something and achieve something. And that’s ultimately it. Cunts.”

Damn!

David Millar ‏@millarmind

Wiggo's now better at me in everything to do with cycling, profanity-filled interviews were all I had left. Now he's taken that crown. Darn.

Looks like the most British guy ever (especially with those sideburns), talks like the most British guy ever. It makes sense.

Damn that's a nice rant. Even managed to insult all women.

Didn't think he would decimate Cancellara' time by 1 minute, tho I should have known. Since Fabian is weak on hills.

Great riding all around.

After today's time trial, if you're not at least questioning whether Team Sky is systematic team doping, then you do not understand cycling. I haven't seen a team performance like this since the Postal days. Wiggins himself is turning into the new Pharmstrong (minus the nut thing), an asshole who dramatically changes his riding from average to superhuman after switching to a new team.

At least I have a new cyclist to focus my hatred. The tour is nothing if you don't have a rider who you despise.

Wiggins is a long lost Weasley. Not surprised at doping accusations. Going to be hilarious in 12 months if it all comes out.

The entire team was decimated yesterday expect for Froome and Wiggins. They had a strong showing on Saturday, but otherwise they haven't been that impressive. Not compared to Radioshack, they had line 6 guys in the top 20 until yesterday.

A good response to Wiggins (and the cheerog riders):

Because it's become abundantly clear that the pro-peloton are aware of us;

More accurately, dear people applauding Bradley Wiggins for his foul-mouthed tirade today:

I'd like to outline why I think you're all massive hypocrites, and why you get the reaction from people that you do.

We've sat by for years - for some of you, your entire professional careers - and watched the sport.
We've sat through almost 30 years of doped riders, of positive tests, of confiscated victories weeks, months and sometimes years after they were awarded.
But most importantly, we sat by whilst all of this was going on, and you did nothing.
You didn't speak out then.
You didn't speak up against people you knew were doping.
You didn't speak up against your teammates when you knew they were doping.
All you ex-T-mobile riders didn't say anything about the visits to Freiberg.
You didn't say anything when riders gave evidence about what they'd seen, and were harassed because of it.
Some of you, through your inaction, did nothing about that harassment. Those of you who raced with Lance Armstrong said nothing back then.
Those of you who raced in 1998 complained about your rights and your dignity.

You didn't complain about those people who stripped them from you by cheating.
You didn't applaud those people who tried to out the real cheats within the ranks.
You didn't chastise those people taking trips to Spain and Italy to see doctors. In fact, some of you did it yourself.

You complained about early morning drug tests.
You complained about out of competition drug tests, and you complained about whereabouts forms and not having a private life, and media intrusion.
And some of you still ride today, still having said nothing about doping.

I'll say this: I've sat up until 3 in the morning every July for countless years now. I've watched, I've supported, even some of you who turned out to be cheats. I've dreamed of being in the position you're in, of having a tenth of the talent you're blessed enough to have, because no amount of hard work will make up for the gap. So when I'm at work at 7am, busting my rear end to make ends meet for the next ten hours for a tiny bit of what you get, remember this, every one of you who applaud Wiggins abusing those of us who ask questions:

We ask the questions because you refused to.
We get suspicious because we're tired of seeing more than half of the last 13 TdF titles get stripped and re-awarded.
We're tired of you guys continually saying "We're clean" and then seeing someone test positive.
We're tired of seeing you complain about us, because we got tired of seeing you cheat us as fans, by not taking matters into your own hands, getting rid of - and speaking out against - those who are doping, and have doped.
You give your blood values and power numbers happily to the ASO, and treat us with contempt, like we're just supposed to watch, buy your sponsor's products, and cheer on demand.

You do nothing to dispel doping suspicions, to out cheats, and to clean up the sport. You are the blight on the sport, not us.

Footnote: I'd include a list of riders DS's and who have publicly announced their support for Wiggins and his remarks, but I find them abhorrent now.

e: I realise the irony of me posting this under a pseudonym. To all those cyclists and staff members on twitter who echo his thought, my personal details are available to you on request. All you have to do is ask.

According to what I read on a different forum, they started investigating Gregorio last year when he was on a different team (Astana), so it may not be related to cofidis at all

Well, I'm glas to know I'm not the only one here who thought that.

Wiggins' performance in a vacuum I might be able to accept.

But seeing a domestique like Chris Froome drop the best climbers in the world off of his wheel on Saturday, and then seeing him take down Cancellara in an iTT on Monday... come on.

Wiggins' verbal and physical outbursts (he went after a cameraman who got close to him) look like roid rage.

Tony Martin is out, as expected. Hope he'll be fit at the Olympics.

And we have our first doping case.
Apparently Cofidis team raided and di Gregorio arrested.

Di Gregorio held for questionning related to an investigation at Astana, his team last year. Nothing to do with the Tour this year.

You're doubting the possibility of someone that almost won the Vuelta last year to win a time trial from someone that was heavily hurt just a couple of months ago? If not for the incompetence of Sky last year, he would be the Vuelta winner.

I don't believe for a second that anyone affiliated with British Cycling would dope. These guys are off to the olympics in a month and they wouldn't dare jeopardize their success there.

Domestique? He would've won the Vuelta last year easily if Sky had not been so set on having Wiggins as the captain.

edit: more news: The 2 arrested in Marseille are possible doping suppliers says L'Equipe. Telephone call by Di Gregorio to supplier intercepted

If it's just one rider who's in the TdF now, I doubt that.

Usually when a rider of a team is caught in the tdf it leads to the whole team bailing out, it happened like that before.
Of course if this incident was really about Di gregorio's Astana days, then it might not happen this time.

even if the investigation started a year ago, it dosen't mean that he didn't continue doping in his new team

That's not at all what usually happens. When one rider is caught, he's just thrown out and the team goes on. It's when multiple are caught, and there is thus the strong implication that doping use is endemic in the team, that teams tend to withdraw from the race.

Indeed. Or if they don't agree with the way the doping case is treated, like TVM did. Those guys were treated like criminals while they were innocent in the end.

They won't leave. They have no reason to.

At least yesterday means we'll see some Evans attacks over the coming mountain stages.

I'm sure he'll try, but I'm not sure he'll be able to. He's never really had that ability to accelerate quickly when going uphill, not like Contador has for instance. And I can't see him riding a tempo that will drop both Froome and Wiggins.

God I miss Contador in this TdF :(.

Hammer coming down like a freight train. Felt weird not having anything to watch last night. Euros, Wimbledon, Le Tour, and F1 spoiling me of choices over the past few weeks and left me alone.

Fon't see the point in having HC mountains that far from the finish. Wish they set up the stages similarly to the vuelta ehich has alot of mountain finishes and paves mountain roads just to get new and tougher ascents
