You can race in first person in the original Trackmania...not sure about Canyon.
 
The more I think about the name of this game, the more it bugs me.

this is trackmania 4 not trackmania 2 goddamn how you gonna NOT call Sunrise and Nations sequels

EDIT: Christ on a stick. Wanted to see if there was something wrong with the credit card, so I was going to add a couple bucks into my Steam Wallet, and that's down too.

Grr. So I switched Steam servers and was able to log in. And just added 10 bucks to my wallet. So WTF! Neither their server or going through Paypal is working for me. Just kicks me back out with an error!
 
Instabuy! I played the original Nations at least a thousand hours so this is a no-brainer. Time to give something to Nadeo as well considering how much enjoyment I've got from their free games!
 
Fuck this. I quit. I've just counted the aborted transactions and I've had 7 rejections in the last 30 minutes. And this is why I love Steam. FUCK!

EDIT: I'll wait another 30 minutes and try through the English Trackmania site. Can't purchase there yet. Maybe it'll work on that.

Mine won't even let it go through. If I can't get the purchase to work when the english sites go live, I'm going to have to see if I can set up some group buy in the Steam thread and get reinbursed with Paypal cash. Have 13 bucks in my paypal account, so I'd only need to scrounge up a little more.

Can u only install this game once? I am currently in Madrid with my macbook + windows but I want to play it on my pc back home!

They send you an email with the download links for future use. Pretty sure you can dl it as many times as you want.
 
This is excellent, thank you much! I love Trackmania Nations but have never played it in multiplayer mode only against the computer. Maybe this will get me to race humans.
 
The graphical settings are a bit complicated so here's how to get the maximum graphics out of TM2.

Run ManiaPlanetLauncher.exe.

- Click on Configure
- Check the High definition box
- Click on Advanced
- You are now on the Display tab
- Check the Customize box
- Set Preset to None
- Set Antialiasing to FXAA
- Set Shadows, Shaders, Textures, Filtering, Geometry, Water and Car reflections to max (the bottom option on each one)
- Click on Combatibility
- Enable VSync
- Set Lightmap quality to High
- Check the Lightmap quality ultra box
- Set Light from map to All Vehicles
- Click OK
- Go to Game tab
- Set Quality of cars to All High
- Set Particle quality to All High
- Set Player shadows to All
- Click OK
- Click Save
 
Anybody have the recommend specs handy? I have a 3 GHz CPU and a 5770 and 4 gigs of ram. Would I be able to run this at medium settings? Thanks.

Yeah, just download the 2 files they give you the link for. That downloader was pretty pointless.
 
Anyone tried to play this offline yet? I want to get the game but since I have no internet at home I need to know how it will function offline.

It's a multiplayer beta, so no offline play.
