Awesome. I still enjoy going through Nadeo's content, especially when mappers are just getting used to the tools, so how much of their own is in there?

Also, does the excellent Platform game mode from United still exist?
bah, anyone?

FYI for anyone having this problem:

I was unable to log into my existing Trackmania Forever account when I first started ManiaPlanet even though I knew my password. I assumed that the problem was that the ManiaPlanet account was separate from earlier TM games. That's not the case. When trying to make a new account, ManiaPlanet told me that an account by that name already exists.

To correct the issue, I logged back into TM Forever, changed my password using the in-game profile settings then retried the ManiaPlanet login using the new password. Worked fine.

Ditto. Is it by IP address or something?

Edit: According to the official forums, the payment servers crashed because they couldn't handle the rush of requests.

Pretty sure my earlier problems were because credit card was being refused by CC company on fraud protection (before link went public). But come on. This is the stupidest launch I've ever seen. Anyone with half a brain could have predicted they'd be getting hammered with downloads and payments. Why they didn't start taking orders last week and let people get set ahead of time is nuts. The only thing worse than overloaded servers is overloaded servers that are processing orders. I half expect to own 5 copies tomorrow. Could have been so easily avoided.

Running it with max settings and the first few races I was amazed at how pretty this game is.

Forgot how funny it is watching 5-10 cars fuck up a turn at the same time. :P

Man, the in-game file browser isn't very friendly at all. Does anyone know a way to manually save a track that was just raced in multiplayer? I don't see any track information in my personal folder.

Or do we have to grab everything from the TM Exchange?

Bummer, had some time to check this out too and was totally going to bite on that price, suppose they'll sort their shit out tomorrow.

Wtf. I did the exact same thing except that in the end I was only able to create a new acount... with the same login as my TMF account. Weeeeird.

I thought there was an option (a button maybe) during a race? As an aside, I'm pretty sure I was in a race with you about an hour ago. :p

On a track, hit esc -> advanced options -> save map

vram usage is crazy with 3 screens, 1.7gb-2gb, gonna try and find the best setup cos some things turned down look really bad but i need 60fps and honestly fuck going back to single screen for this type of game. will try in 3D single later though

is there a key to totally disable the hud? it's hopefully staring me in the face

edit: also can't seem to disable shadows, always defaults back to high, think that would be big performance boost

This game is pretty, but

1) I don't get 60fps when maxed at 1080p in a full multiplayer server on my 2600k+580 :(
2) My antialiasing options only show up as "FXAA".

Other than that, I'm really liking this car!

Weird. I have the same gfx card but i5 2500k with max AA and it's a smooth 60.

$25 = £15, not £20. Sad that they want to screw the Europeans because car games sell better here.

I noticed it has gifting, so I'm going to get a yank to gift it to me. Hopefully that works out fine.

So I guess using a wheel is out of the question for this game? I looked through the TM2 forum and from the few posts I could find about controller support - it looks like there was no centering force / FFB for wheels - only rumble and much delay from analog steering.

Yes that is correct.

I brought it to the attention of the devs so lets hope something is done about it.

Trackmania would be difficult with a wheel...a keyboard would be much easier, in fact.

Not necessarily. I use a wheel just fine and put up top times with it in TM1. Just gotta make sure you set your rotation to around 180 degrees or less. Believe it or not Ridge Racer 6 and 7 are more appropriate for gamepad steering than the Trackmania games.

Anyone having issues logging in? Trying with my account I use for Forever/Nations and it's giving me "there is no account with this login" yet I'm logged in right now on the website.

Taxes, and the pound ain't worth shit anymore.

edit: fucking ubisoft, why is it connecting me to a french site to buy it.
They always do this in games they publish, you end up with fucking dutch ingame sound and writing by default, and french websites if you live in Belgium.
This site doesn't even have the option to switch language (original site does, but not the one it links you to when you click buy).

That's not very difficult to believe since those games practically steer themselves nowadays. Push left and CRAZY DRIFT YO MAN!

I was just able to purchase. Get in there!

Edit: For the record, I used paypal. You can safely retry without having to worry about repeat charges and such. Probably just lucked out.

No such luck here.
Damn...

Kept spamming the PayPal option over the last 5 minutes...just got in.

Not a very elegant launch at all...Nadeo should have had more foresight than this.

Yup. Can't play at all. Menus work fine but as soon as I click join my whole pc crashes and reboots.

Pretty fucking pissed off.

Been denied about 20 times, but this is strangely cathartic. I will spam all night now.

I did PayPal just because it was the fastest option to spam. If you have an autocompleter addon, you can probably do credit card easily.

Why the HELL did you have to say that? Now I'll be here all night trying to get this to work

I'm done for the night. It's just too boring having to wait for the spinning "Authorizing Payment" spinner for 10 seconds before it fails. If I could spam proper, I'd hammer these servers for longer. 15 minutes of that is enough.
