Trackmania 2 Canyon Beta Pre-Orders + Beta live NOW NOW NOW GO MOVE NOW

This is pretty great. After Forever it was easy to jump right in and start playing.

I have noticed that if you save a replay and then go to edit that replay, there's a "play" option where you can compete on that track against your ghost. Not much point to it though.
 
Crap, I bought it and downloaded the game and installed it, but I clicked off the page with my cdkey on it and I can't get back to it.

Where do I go to get my Key?
 
Runs well but my system is overheating so I'm not touching it so much. Need to dust my Gfx card and insides of the computer.

4Gb ram

It looks really good and its so smooth with a 120hz screen :)
I'm not familiar with gameplay yet, looks like it has changed quite a bit. I'm not sure about camera settings either. I couldn't get the wide angle in Nations back in TM² but I didn't really try hard.
 
That drifting is HOT. And the camera doesn't do any of that Island-style off center garbage on a long drift. God I love this car.

Yep, it's all maxed :D

I'm running at a very high resolution (2560x1600) so I usually avoid AA unless it won't affect framerate.
 
Just an FYI

Gmail sorted the email from maniaplanet as spam, so if you don't see your key in your email check your junk/spam folder.

I think they're completely overwhelmed ATM. I decided to wait till 6 o'clock and see if they gave me a different payment server and it flat out doesn't work. Did one attempt with a credit card and there was no record of them ever trying to get the money. And when I attempt to pay through Paypal, it gives me payment error kickback without ever redirecting me to paypal for the money. They're getting hammered and things are just flat broken right now.

EDIT: Or not.

I got that using their downloader tool so I had to re download the direct links

Game is running flawless for me. Though one thing I do is reduce the number of opponents in Multiplayer (for gameplay and performance purposes).

The motion blur is MUCH improved over TMUF. It makes the game look stunning.

GeForce GTX 570

Everything at max, as posted here, at 1600x1200. It's always way above 60fps.
 
How much content is in the beta? I assume the track editor is there alongside the ability for servers to automatically send you custom tracks?

Correct. So, essentially, as much content as people provide.
 
tried to log in with old account, said it didn't exist, created a new one, applied activation key to it, said i don't have enough planets (?!?!), try to log in again with newly created account, says doesn't exist, make new one, activation key in use. :(

Awesome. I still enjoy going through Nadeo's content, especially when mappers are just getting used to the tools, so how much of their own is in there?

Also, does the excellent Platform game mode from United still exist?

It did this for me too. Check your emails because despite this when I paid with my CC it emailed me a key and download link (and presumably did charge my card).
I tried twice before realising this and now have two emails, but both with the same order no. & CD key, so hopefully my card was only charged once :/

How long was it before you received the email?
 
WTF. I try to create a new account first. It says my login is being used in Trackmania Forever. Okay, no problem; I didn't know that their accounts were unified.

So I click "use existing account" instead, log in with the same username, and it says they don't have any record of that account name. I click OK on that, and then it gives me an error that it "you are not connected to the internet".

Hopefully this is a symptom of high traffic...

Edit: just created a new login name entirely. That seemed to work. Don't have time to play until later though.

Excellent, I should get pretty good performance too then.

Better CPU (E8500)
Same RAM
Worse GPU (GTX285)
And lower resolution display (1680x1050)

Can't wait. How did they do that though? Isn't that performance on par with Trackmania Nations/United? They look good too, but not *that* good.

Oh yay now this is happening to me >:(
I like my account name from TM:U. I'm now running out of time to play this now too. Sigh.
Guess I just wait for them to sort their shit out, pretty disappointed right now.

EDIT: Worked it out, you have to use the normal signup form and enter the same email & password as your TM:U/TM:F account, it does kind of imply that with the error you get back but it's poorly worded

Same shit for me. I rebooted the game and I was able to create a new account with the same login as my TMF account.

Anyway, the drifting is so satifying... IT'S SO GOOD.

I'd test it myself but I'm running into the same problem with "payment refused" that these other folks seem to be having. No joy on paypal or credit card for me. FROWNY FACE.

Edit: I'm stupid. Didn't realize you had to select the card icon for your payment method.

Edit 2: Or not.... Refuses everything.

Ditto. Is it by IP address or something?

Edit: According to the official forums, the payment servers crashed because they couldn't handle the rush of requests.

4870/Q6600 here. It runs at 50/60 fps (always higher than 50fps) at 1680x1050 with the "high quality" preset. (it's the highest one)
Everything is maxed out except water reflexions, car reflexions, AA and bloom.
