I just caught the replay of the Trinidad/Mayorga fight. It was absolutely brutal, one of the worst beatdowns I've ever seen. My hats off to Mayorga, but it should have been stopped a few rounds earlier. Trinidad just destroyed this guy. It wasn't even close. Extremely accurate power shot after powershot. Trinidad is just devastating.

Round 5 was particuraly brutal. You could see Mayorga go in relatively unscathed, and by the end of it he looked like a bleeding piece of meat. I haven't seen a one sided beatdown like that in a long time. I thought it would be closer, but aside from the light knockdown Mayorga got in 3...total slaughter.

It was great, but fuck I felt bad for Mayorga. I don't think he'll ever be the same should he come back to fight.

Great fight. I wish I payed PPV for that fight instead of De La Hoya/Hopkins.

Tito was simply incredible tonight. Hopefully Tito won't be such a letdown like all the other boxing stars as of late. I agree with Larry Merchant that boxing is definitely in a recession right now. Almost every star has fallen and almost all of the prospects have been a bust. Jermaine Taylor is the only prospect who hasn't been tarnished and Tito is the only star who still has an aura of invincibility.
