Yeah and of that half only like 10% of it was even relevant. If they do any city period, they need to have smaller, but much more detailed recreations of the most important areas.

The entire first game was filled with hip hop music and lots of slang. Snoop was even playable. Their goal for the series is for it to be a more hip hop version of GTA (although San Andreas kind of ruined that for them).
