3. The “octopus” line about Trump is engineered persuasion of the highest order. It makes the story deeply visual and extra-creepy. Godzilla, or someone similarly skilled, is probably behind that word. It’s too engineered for a civilian to concoct during an interview. That’s professional work. And it’s probably a golden stake through Trump’s political heart. (Well played.)

This guy is a professional writer (well at least in part) and he thinks the word "octupus" is engineered persuasion.

Wow. I didn't know writing was so easy. I could be a writer, I know lots of animal names.

Also I keep seeing the title of this thread as dirty. That probably say something about me.

Driving through Wisconsin is frightening. I think he might win wi. The amount of trump signs is sickening compared to mn. Madison and Milwaukee really need to get out and vote.
I live far up north in Wisconsin. All I see is Republican signs. You'd never know it's a blue state going by the looks of things.

I live in northwestern PA and I am so glad the east part of the state is blue. Sad to see he might be focusing even harder in PA because I'll have to see more of his shit.

The weirdest part of that statement is that, if I understand it correctly, he's saying Godzilla is behind it? Like...what?

Giving up on PA is basically giving up on the election isn't it?

CNN said he would need to win Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania (to get more than 270) even if he won Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada and every other state Romney won. Thats not going to happen.

It's pretty weird that my state has, barring some massive reorganization by the GOP, gone totally blue in the course of two presidential elections.

Democrats have done a great job in state-wide elections here considering the Demographics are still pretty purple. The next step would be to do something about the horribly Republican House of Delegates - they have a crazy 66:34 advantage there.

I don't know why PA is even being treated like a swing state anymore, to be honest. I guess it is a lighter shade, but it's been blue for a long time now.

Going to be very fun to watch him come apart over the next couple of weeks.

People poll it early in the season. It looks close. Then Democrats apply a decent amount of pressure and it completely collapses in their favor.

Remember when Trump boasted he would put 11 new states into play, like California and NY? Good times.

To be fair, the line about how the next couple years are going to be pretty shitty for the US because Republicans (w/ control over the house) have a vested interest in the US failing under President Clinton (so Rs can rebounce in 2018/2020) is completely true.

The last 8 years have shown that Rs are basically impossible to work with, making them pretty much useless and an active detriment to the USA.

But the rest of his rant, oy vey.

I mean, obviously. That's been their strategy since Obama took office.

Despite the fretting about blue collar workers, Trump is actually an even weaker candidate in PA than a typical Republican because of how poorly he does with college educated and suburban voters. Hillary can win the state just off of Philly and its suburbs.

He's not winning any of those other 4 states.

Better focus his attention on the battleground swing states of Arizona, Georgia, South Carolina, and fucking Utah.

Anything that doesn't worship the ground he stands on is a "troll post" there.

I was banned from r/the_donald for posting a factual link that is now also being reported by CNN and others. Go ahead Trump supporters, just stick your head in the sand and pretend your world isn't crashing down around you.

I actually would have loved to see how they think they are going to win the electoral votes without Virginia.

It's understandable that Fox News polls aren't going to be trusted by many, given their constant flubbing of stats, numbers, graphs and so on during their opinion programming (90% of their airtime).

They also have fairly decent straight news reporting, when it's actually able to shine through the filter of BS that taints the entire network.
True.

You can turn that into a nightmare map by giving him an ME electoral vote (which he'll probably win) and flipping WI (which he almost surely won't but there have been a couple sphincter-tightening polls). Bam, 270. Return of Ganon.

But he's probably not going to win NC or FL so.

How is he winning maine? He's never surpassed clinton in polling and has been losing ground in the last month.

His whole "Trump is a master manipulator" thesis was such bullshit.

I see a low-intelligence bully with no filter, and some low-intelligence types respond to that alpha dog behaviour. Thats not master manipulation. It's old tribalism, literally the least sophisticated way to gain favor over a group. Talk loud, never apologize, and go on the attack. Wow, great strategy! It's not like children don't figure his out on the schoolyard before they evolve to more sophisticated techniques to win people.

Adams is dead wrong when he views these Access Hollywood revelations as being an anomoly from nowhere that destroys his theory. These revelations are part of Trump's pattern, and it's been revealed to a self-destructive pattern in the long term. Tribal alpha dog behaviour is a poor strategy for the modern world. Scott Adams is an idiot. But he's smarter than Trump, and made the foolish mistake of reading intelligent faces into the clouds of Trump's simplistic buffoonery.

Agreed. Trump is now, but dems need to consider how to use whats happening now to win back the House and Senate. I'm hoping there are people out there forward thinking enough to consider the elections that count the most to a functioning presidency.

I read a delusional Facebook comment on Glenn Beck's "endorsement" of HRC that said that republicans can't actually block Dem legislation in congress and they just bend to their will. Did these people live under a rock for the last 8 years?

Anyway yeah I'm worried about 2020 elections because of that, which is why I'd be super relieved if we could flip the house and make some real progress so dems have stuff to brag about in 2018/20.

I'm not trusting any polls. There are a ton of people who won't even admit to voting for him.

I won't say it won't be a factor, but, there are also closet Hillary supporters. Women married to very conservative men, just as an example, that would never admit it to their husbands but will refuse to vote for a predator.

I've heard that BS fear-mongering theory since 08, and its never panned out. Everyone was CERTAIN Obama would lose 08 cause deep down most people didn't want a black man and would vote McCain at the last second.

This too. I heard this a lot. Even heard that it would be a landslide because all the racists would show up in droves yadda yadda.

Didn't happen then, won't happen now. The people that are too shy to admit they support Trump probably won't bother to vote anyway. The kind of people that are going to show up for Trump, are quite proud to support him.

If Trump were to win Pennsylvania he'd still be short of 270 with OH, FL, NC. He'd have to pull in one more state(Utah, Iowa, NH, NV). If Utah put Clinton in the White House all because of McMuffin it'd be the most talked about election throughout eternity.

I live in NH and the Trump ads and signs have been pouring out of basically nowhere.

It's scary, but I hope it's just nothing
