Trump chafes under Kelly's tight leash

How the hell is this presidency sustainable for 4 years when he can't even get along with the people on his own goddamn team?

Trump sounds like a pro athlete who's just trying to shine, get buckets, and turn up in the club while his coach is nagging him about getting his teammates involved, staying in shape, and playing defense.

Only a matter of time until the subtweets start about Kelly not being a players' coach good fit for Trump's personality.

Tillerson only intends to stay for 1 year. I think he will hit that mark and resign as planned. Kelly will outlast him for sure.

I'm pretty sure that 1 year thing came up well after he was confirmed.

I don't think he originally planned to stay only one year.

It actually doesn't even make sense. It's like "here's a guy with zero ducking experience and he only plans to stay for a year". Why even bother? He'll end up leaving just as he starts to come to grips with the job.

Edit: also Kelly is a massive piece of shit, but at the same time this is the best the White House has looked in some ways, because he's actually been able to apply some discipline. Trump can't even see how it's good for him.

He may be just as dysfunctional as ever, but Kelly st least is mostly able to keep up apearances.

So Trump's at his happiest when there's a large group of people around him. I'm not shocked. What I am shocked about is how deeply it affects him. Kelly's doing his job by restricting access to the president to avoid leaks, and the president himself is doing the opposite by going behind his back. And he wonders why the media is always after him.

Pro tip: Keep your mouth shut so you won't have "fake news" journalists after you.

In a way I'm glad that he's been given a shot. This might ensure that someone like him never gets close to the office of the presidency after trying to ruin it and debase everyone that has surrounded him. He's basically guaranteed that if you worked for him, you'll never be taken seriously again.

Has there been any president, hell politician, where we get constant almost weekly journalist reports on their psyche?

lol he is a child

This is what I imagine their interactions are like:

I can't lie, I get way more satisfaction from this sort of thing than I probably should. But I don't feel bad about it. It's fantastic.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Seems he doesn't like this story

General John Kelly is doing a great job as Chief of Staff. I could not be happier or more impressed - and this Administration continues to..

Usually when he praises you on twitter, means the end times are upon us. He did this with Comey before turning on him.

15 minutes inbetween those tweets.

15 minutes.

Kelly stopped writing on the blackboard he's using to try and explain how the government works, so Donny had to stash his phone under the desk until he turned back.

Bet he fired off that tweet and then texted "OMG, kelly iz sooooo lame. Cum 2 WH 4 COD l8er?" to Steve Bannon.

He has literally tweeted/said something nice days to weeks before each person resigned/was fired/etc. He has to see that these "reassurances" don't mean much.
And so the bell tolls, for another sacrifice shall be made in the House of White.

“He doesn’t like the way the media’s handling him. He doesn’t like how Kelly’s handling him. He’s turning on people that are very close to him.”

Please implode soon.

“Donald Trump resists being handled,” said Roger Stone, a former Trump adviser and longtime confidant. “Nobody tells him who to see, who to listen to, what to read, what he can say.” Stone added, “General Kelly is trying to treat the president like a mushroom. Keeping him in the dark and feeding him s--- is not going to work. Donald Trump is a free spirit.”
He's just a free spirit, guys. Stop trying to keep him from finding things that spark joy and allow him to be his best self.

Does he think he's being clever with those tweets this morning? Like everyone can see you are responding to news from yesterday and that you are a fake president who just reads news about himself all day.

We need an SNL skit of Baldwin Trump hiding under a blanket in a dark room, bottom bunk, with a flashlight and a rotary phone, calling up his old pals like Bannon and then quickly hanging up and pretending too be asleep whenever Kelly opens the door and tells Donny he needs his sleep. Mostly because I think it would drive Trump fucking crazy and maybe speed up his retribution against Kelly, and I realize how sad it is that throwaway SNL skits seem like viable methods of impacting the president.

At the end we find out Putin is in the top bunk, of course.

He always argues like a child.

This is the same guy who responded to accusations of having thin skin with "I don't have a thin skin! I have very thick skin!"

You can tell what he will tweet by what's on Fox News in the morning. Watch Fox News from 5am-8am and basically his tweets regurgitate what they talks about, thus the Clinton tweet.

Kelly has to be killing him.

Talking shit in front of a group of people is what he lives for. He needs that audience. This behavior was well documented by cast and crew of The Apprentice. He wouldn't let them leave, it would go on for hours.

You're not owed shit, you disgusting fuck.

I was going to argue with you that he is kind of owed thanks to Republicans gaining seats when he was elected, but I just looked it up and saw that Democrats actually made gains in both the House and the Senate. I did not know that.
