Trump Fires James Comey

On a real note, people are so one-dimensional. People suck at realizing repercussions ahead of time. If people really applauded Comey's firing because of his mishandling the Clinton investigation, then they either don't know jack shit about what else he is/was investigating at the moment, which itself is awful, or they don't care enough.

People are so stupid.

People are also typically only one or two issue voters.

I remember voting for Bush in 2000 specifically because he wouldn't close off federal lands. It's comical how much I've grown and changed since then.

They amp you up to a very high level, plus as soon as you enter the theater you cannot check your phone. Which is around 4:30. There's a good chance most them are only hearing it there for the first time.

And to add to that, Hilary recently said that if it wasn't for Comey's actions, she'd have won, which Colbert talked about + the majority of the crowd hates Trump, they cheered the firing without thinking of the implications.

The pragmatist in me rather have a wet towel than Trump. People like Kerry, Gore, and Clinton absolutely had experience in spades. Way more than Sander who hide most of his political life in the tiny state of Vermont doing exactly what to gain experience?

You don't get to pick between a wet towel and Trump unless you're just interested in getting to vote for a losing candidate and gave Trump always win.

Also Sanders was in Congress for near three decades. He had the same amount of experience as Kerry and had more policy experience than Hillary. Only lacked International experience representing the US but he's also well traveled.

Clinton, Gore, and Kerry were all more qualified leaders but since they were basically bags of dirt personality wise they lost.

Certainly having qualified leaders is great, but you have to be naïve to believe that America is capable of handling that responsibility without being wooed by a flashy personality, especially after Trump. At this stage, honestly, I think Dems should prioritize personality above everything else when running for the presidency.
I kinda think the same. But I wouldn't put Sanders in the "winning personality" bucket either. I guess I can't think many people would put Trump there either.

TBH, Dems just kinda need to revolt. Its disgusting to see the popular vote in national as well as local elections and not getting the representation they deserve from it. They've either gotta make a concerted effort to move people into these bum-fuck-nowhere neighborhoods, start challenging the stuff better in court, or revolt.

Oh hey FYI, the one thing we didn't even consider.

Having Russian Press lug all their equipment into the Oval Office seems like a really fucking bad idea.

Burr and Warner were the only two senators briefed on DOJ request for more Russia resources, per source. Other Intel members didn't know

Former FBI Director James Comey met with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last week to request more "resources, energy and attention" for the Russian investigation, a U.S. official confirmed to CBS News.

Comey then met with the two leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee -- Sens. Richard Burr, R-North Carolina, and Sen. Mark Warner, D-Virginia -- on Monday and informed them about his request to Rosenstein.

Can we just get someone, ANYONE, with a shred of charisma?

Look at the last 40 years Democrats. When you had the more charismatic candidate you won. Now shut the fuck up and nominate them you fuckers.

Well, therein lies the problem. Republicans, by and large, show up and vote no matter how shitty the candidate is. They don't care about policy or personality at that point, they just vote R.

Democrats, or people who would vote Democrat, all too often, aren't willing to do shit unless they're inspired. It's not enough to oppose evil. They're always ready to do nothing, and then claim the whole system isn't good enough, and that they're somehow above it all because they didn't vote. Or even worse, vote 3rd party. I have family who've voted for the Green party multiple times. Including both popular vote / electoral vote splits.
It's infuriating.

NEW: AG Sessions doesn't see conflict on his Clinton email investigation recusal & decision to fire James Comey, DOJ official tells CBS News

The portion of America that thought it was okay to let these frauds take the reigns, they really need to wake the fuck up and start caring about the repercussions. These 'leaders' are corrupt to the core and they need to be removed from the offices they hold.

Holy fucking shit.

DOJ spox Ian Prior tells me Comey never asked Rosenstein for more money or more resources for the Russia investigation (1/2)

(2/2) and that Sarah Flores is being misquoted when reporters say she said Comey asked for more resources for the Russia investigation

So Prior says the DOJ is not drawing a distinction between money and resources, and that Comey didn't ask Rosenstein for any of that

AP is refuting this. Or at least confirming that Comey did brief Senate he made the requests.

12:25 p.m.

Three U.S. officials say fired FBI Director James Comey told lawmakers that he asked the Justice Department for more money for the bureau’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling.

President Donald Trump fired Comey Tuesday.

The officials say Comey told lawmakers he had made the request to Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general.

The Justice Department is denying that Comey asked for more resources.

The White House has wielded a critical memo from Rosenstein to justify President Donald Trump’s decision to fire Comey on Tuesday. Rosenstein’s memo focused only on Comey’s handling of last year’s investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton’s email practices. It does not mention the Russia investigation.

The officials were not authorized to disclose the meetings publicly and insisted on anonymity.

Surely someone means the Russian investigation right?

Three decade as an outsider of both parties s while only serving a tiny sliver of the American populist is not deep experience. It only shows that he is good at bring the pork home for his state. If he really cared, he would have expanded his career long ago to get in touch with all of America and the world.

Popularity and Charisma didn't secure Sanders the Primary. That blows charisma argument out of the water.

If Dems and progressive want to move forward- they need to honestly look at why Clinton and Sanders lost. Both had great potential, yet they were kneecapped by outside forces and inside purity test.

We need to draw from Governors rather than Senators.

Shame the only Democratic governor who stepped up was O'Malley. Dude isn't even that popular in Maryland and is a very traditional wet sponge Democrat. Must be someone else who doesn't have baggage and actually seems like an enjoyable person.

There's a big gap between reality TV stars and experienced leaders who are also cool people. Please realize this before we nominate another wet towel.

We don't have that many governors to begin with right now, and the ones we do are often old (like Brown-CA or Dayton-MN), unpopular (Wolf-PA or Raimondo-RI), or pretty Blue Dog (Justice-WV or Edwards-LA)

Chuck Todd seems like his head is about to explode learning about the fact that the only press allowed in the Trump meeting with the Russian diplomat was a Russian media source
