Trump "overhauls campaign team," adds two new campaign managers

Perfectly reflecting the mindset described in this article.

The campaign overhaul means that Trump is choosing to end his campaign living in the alternate reality that Breitbart creates for him on a daily basis—where everything he does is the best, where everyone who questions him is an idiot or a traitor, where big rallies portend electoral victories, where House speaker Paul Ryan is the problem with modern conservatism, where polls that find him down are fixed, where elections he loses are rigged, where immigration and trade are the nation's most pressing issues, and where, truly, Trump alone can fix it all.

I really do think this move is going to lead to a Donald Trump incapable of comprehending he could actually lose. Election Day is going to be crazy as hell.

I will say, I think Donald and his campaign are really playing with fire with this new attack the media thing. They are doing a great job of burying themselves, but they might really see what it's like when the media truly turns against you and is out to bury you.

NYT is not having any of it.

I'm honestly surprised CNN has put up with it as long as they have. Though reading about Jeff Zucker's relationship with Trump, I guess it's no surprise.

NYT and Washington Post are doing Gods work.

Did the new campaign managers give out drugs immediately?

Trump has been showing his hand (as tiny as they are) the past week or so. His surrogates are attacking the media; he's calling them dishonest far more often; there was a survey that, to complete it, you had to donate to his campaign where it says in big bold words "STOP THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA"; and now he hires on Bannon and has Ailes lurking in the shadows.

He's starting his own network. That's all this ever was, in my opinion. He wanted to get the news cycle centered on him for 16 months, and it worked. It's the biggest advertisement in history: "don't trust them, trust me. Now go to channel ___ for the real story."

So here's how its going to play out. Trump once again revamps his campaign, his new henchmen basically are going to state anything about the media is "out to get them", which is going to be their way of skipping the debates. The groundwork was laid before, but if this is going to to be the tactic, they are going full bore to avoid these debates at all costs.

At this point I'd be shocked if Trump doesn't invest in or start some sort of alt-right media outlet.

He's burned every bridge with mainstream media outlets, either by directly shitting on them or just being shit himself, so I think you're right. If he wants to have a show or platform of any kind he's going to have to build it himself. I wonder if even Fox News would reject him because of how toxic he is.

I think this is where it's going too, and it's going to be nuts. TrumpTV + Breitbart is going to wreck the Paul Ryan wing's attempt to reassert control over the party after the election. It'll be an entire network dedicated to the myth that Trump only lost because he was betrayed by the GOP establishment.

And it'll still go bankrupt because lol Trump and he won't even be the first failed presidential nominee to end up with a failed TV netowrk.
