That guy was black, he'd be deader than dead

He's white, so according to law enforcement it's his God-given human right to intimidate voters

And it's gonna continue! Can't wait to see what goes down on Tuesday

Wishful thinking, but it would be nice if seeing things like this could further galvanize people into voting against Trump, maybe even convince some of the non-deplorable supporters that they were backing the wrong horse after all.

I don't think anyone or anything will. We're now learning that a surprising number of people in this country are actually just truly irredeemably terrible.

Its unfortunate, but I dont expect the next week to go by without some kind of violence from Trump supporters & it will probably be directed at minorities.

ACLU's probably rubbing their hands together getting ready for the lawsuits. Police may be reluctant to do anything if they consider it routine open carry, but voter intimidation is illegal.

Q.Who can I report intimidation to?
A.
You can report intimidation to:

The Election Protection Hotline: 1-866-OUR-VOTE or 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA (en Español)
The U.S. Department of Justice Voting Rights Hotline: 800-253-3931; TTY line 877-267-8971
Local and state officials, including poll workers; your county clerk, elections commissioner, elections supervisor; or your state board of elections.

Obv any violence from Trump supporters is black flag pro-Hillary violence /s

You'll be fine.

Ashburn is close to Fairfax, more specifically Herndon and Reston. Its a very nice place overall. I lived in northern Virginia for 27 years (from birth until 27), first Arlington (until 20) and then Herndon (until 27), and its a lovely place. Yeah there are some idiots but what place doesn't have it?

Honestly, fear the traffic. And for the love of GOD do not try and drive through Tyson's Corner during the hours of like 2 pm to 8 pm.

You and I have very different definitions of lovely, ha, I have never liked NoVa. Aunt has lived in Fairfax since the 60's, Brother in law lives in Sterling now, but lived in both Reston and Herndon. I was asked to relocate to Front Royal, which at the time was considered the sticks to NoVa and politely declined. It is all built up down there now.

I think I am biased too heavily to Central Va. Sorry just where you are from I guess.

But to the greater point, VA was a heavy read state for a long long time and there are still many folks upset by that and wish it wasn't turning blue as it has been for the greater part of the last 12 years or so.

Va has become a state that a lot of folks from the north east relocate to and it has definitely changed the political climate over time.

Brown said her office contacted the local Republican Party, which got the man to agree to pull his Trump shirt over the weapon so people couldn’t see it.

I'd feel safer if he covered his shirt with his gun.

Maybe its due to growing up there, but I've always liked it, though I grew to prefer Fairfax to Arlington (which was getting too crowded, and so many McMansions). Its still what comes to mind when I think of home, even though I moved some years ago (to Delaware, which man is a real change of pace from the beltway).

To each their own though.

If I did the same shit at a Republican polling place I'd be shot 457 times by the police. My corpse would then be charged with voter intimidation. I'm no angel.

Remember when Fox News was freaking out over "Obama's Black Panthers" doing this at polling stations a few years back?

Oh, I member that.

They were not too happy, it seemed like all they could talk about for a while. Have they talked about these things yet? Lol no I'm not seriously asking.

Things being legal doesn't mean they're okay.

Cops being OK with it doesn't mean it's legal.

The article also says he had a Trump shirt on, was passing out republican pamphlets, and asking people if they were voting for "crooked hillary" -- how is that not against this provision:

"During the times the polls are open and ballots are being counted, it shall be unlawful for any person (i) to loiter or congregate within 40
feet of any entrance of any polling place; (ii) within such distance to give, tender, or exhibit any ballot, ticket, or other campaign material
to any person or to solicit or in any manner attempt to influence any person in casting his vote; or (iii) to hinder or delay a qualified
voter in entering or leaving a polling place. (Va. Code Ann. § 24.2-604(A))"

Because the polls aren't technically open even though people can submit their absentee votes?

Them saying it's okay because open carry is legal is insane. It's not legal when it's voter intimidation.

That's like someone drunk driving, and they wave it off because alcohol is legal.

Luckily Trumpsters can't pull that off in Norfolk, Clinton signs everywhere. Plus we tend to vote overly Democratic anyway. It was 72% - 26% Obama in 2008 and 2012

Can probably do it in Chesapeake... Trump signs everywhere, and Virginia Beach disappoints me every election :(

He's afraid.

These people know they are on the losing end and are panicking. I hope this doesn't end with violence on election day.

Heh yep. Just moved to Norfolk but all my damn neighbors are for Trump. A lot of Clinton signs though outside of this neighborhood.

You probably live in a neighborhood with lots of military, which is why I recon VA Beach always goes red since most military live there and commute to Norfolk, Oceana... etc etc.

The Tidewater Drive corridor is littered with Clinton signs, including my house :D I wish someone would try me.

Vote early if you can, folks. There's still time left. Don't be out there in that crazy shit on the 8th.

*Sigh* I wish. Some of these reports are concerning, especially living in an alleged battleground state. Oh well, voter intimidation was more blatant and systematic just a few decades ago. If people could deal with that, dealing with weirdos like this isn't even a thing for me.

honestly this if anything will cause more people to vote for Hillary

I could imagine undecideds walking in flip flopping on their choice and some psycho with a gun making them go "nope"

I can't imagine anyone changing their vote because of that to Trump

There's this thing called Patriarchal White Supremacy that society is built to maintain

Can't have cops going around arresting or killing white men, sends the wrong societal message

Sounds like what the Democrats is suing Republicans for. I don't give a fuck if its open carry in that state. Any moron can see he is intimating people. Scum.

Looks like the real "rigged" voting... If this kind of bullshit was done on the other side, it'd be condemned all over FOX news. I'm truly saddened by people's behavior on a daily basis from this election.

It's interesting but I see way less Trump signs compared to Romney 4 years ago. Hardly any Hillary signs in VA Beach.

I see mostly Trump signs in VA Beach, but also like 60% of them are all the same people. I do see a decent smattering of Clinton signs here and there.

I just wanted to mention that there is early voting in Virginia. Just head down to your local registrar's office during business hours, Mon-Friday, from some date in late September until November 5th.

Now regarding the guy open carrying outside a voting place, technically obeying the law but clearly trying to intimidate people: fuck him. He makes this country look so awful and is a disgrace.
