Jeb Bush: 'Donald Trump is a jerk'
Contoocook, New Hampshire (CNN) While Jeb Bush has been railing against Donald Trump all week, he still had more to say on Saturday, uttering perhaps his strongest comments yet about the Republican presidential front-runner.

"Just one other thing -- I gotta get this off my chest -- Donald Trump is a jerk," Bush said to laughter and applause at his town hall here.

The outburst came after a man who said he had Asperger's Syndrome asked the former Florida governor how he would help people with disabilities as president.

Bush talked about the work he did in Florida with the state legislature to obtain more money for the state's disability system. Just when it appeared he was done with his answer, Bush started his rant against his GOP rival.

"You cannot insult your way to the presidency," he said, reiterating an attack line he's been firing at Trump. "You can't disparage women, Hispanics, disabled people. Who is he kidding?"

Trump took on widespread criticism when he appeared to mock a New York Times reporter with a disability last month, though Trump denied he was doing so.

The two candidates have been sparring all week after Bush started executing a new strategy of directly confronting Trump at the CNN debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday. They continued taking shots throughout the week, with Trump calling Bush "dumb as a rock" on Twitter Friday.

Continuing to dig in, Bush said Saturday it's "deeply discouraging" that Trump is "actually running for president and insulting people."

"We should reject that out of hand. And I hope you're going to reject it by voting for me," he told the audience. "But a guy like that should not be the front-running candidate of our great party. That is not how we win."

After more applause, Bush added: "I feel better now. I gave myself therapy there. Thank you for allowing me to do it."

Bush's jab comes the same day that the super PAC supporting his White House bid, Right to Rise, released a new TV ad hitting Trump.
Things heating up.

This is absolutely comparable to children throwing bad insults at each other on a playground, and they're running for president 👌🏽

Trump is doing planet Earth a huuuuge favor by blocking Jeb! no matter how horrible Trump's words are.

Bush neoconservatisme is mainly responsible for the mess in the middle-east right now.

Thank you Trump!
Hilary 2016!

He's right; it's embaressing that an insulting twerp is leading your party's candidate's right now.

Those supporting Trump don't care; which is part of the problem.

I'd still like to think Republican voters are just casting poll votes out of frustration with their party and will eventually vote for a "Real candidate that isn't embaressing."

I feel better now. I gave myself therapy there. Thank you for allowing me to do it.

Not an American but Jeb Bush seems like a nice guy. I don't think he should take Trump's comments seriously and get upset like this.

Trump's supporters already know that he's a bully. That's why they like him.

The more Jeb talks like this, the more that Trump supporters, and those who aren't yet his supporters, start to like Trump.

You see, this election has already been framed. Trump has everyone convinced that all of the "normal" politicians are the bad guys, the bullies (not that I even disagree with that usually to be honest). The more they speak out against Trump, the stronger that point becomes and the more people will stand up him him. The people are loving Trump standing up to them, being the bully instead. If they want to increase his lead, then what they want to do is hit Trump like this. It works for Trump, it doesn't work the other way. I'm not sure why they don't understand this.

I feel bad for Bush deep down, I really do. Heck, I feel kinda bad for most of everyone else running this cycle. It's like someone busted in their door and ransacked their house and the have no clue how to deal with it at all. It's weird, I feel bad for them in a way but on the other hand I'm enjoying the hell out of it and find it humorous. I'd love to know what all of them are saying in private. I'll be stunned if we don't get some really intense secret recordings from them before this is all over.

I find it hilarious that Jeb doesn't realize you have nothing to gain from engaging Trump at his own game. He's been obviously impacted by Trump's statements from the beginning and it only makes him look weak and incompetent.

Cruz's strategy really has been brilliant from the beginning in how he handles Trump.

The fact that Jeb! doesn't see that he can't win an exchange with Trump and keeps opening the door for more punishment shows Trump is right, he is dumb as a pile of rocks.

"Donald Trump is a jerk."

"You cannot insult your way to the presidency"

This is a form of concession speech.

Jeb would be better off taking the moral highground and not engaging in shit like this

Surely the type of people you want as the president of the most powerful nation on earth. Keep it up guys!

And these people are already governors or billionaires. Amazing.

Jeb¡ is such a dweeb. His beta personality just makes Trump stronger. I wonder how much of his older brother he sees in Trump and if that just pisses him off even more. Well, at least that's the armchair psychologist opinion, but I think there's a bit of truth to it.

Jeb should sacrifice himself and save the party. I mean he isn't winning anyway, so might as well go all out against trump since no one else seemed to have the balls, even in the debate.

I'm sorry, but I thought that only people 35+ years old can for President of the United States. Who let these young children run for office?

that is the problem with the Bush family, they "appear" to be nice image wise.

But this is the true face of the Bush family:

The problem with the Bush family is that they have a diplomatic relationship with the Saudis? Doesn't Obama have diplomatic relationships with them as well?

Jeb is not wrong. Trump can't become president by marginalizing and insulting numerous groups of people. But he can win the republican nom by doing so, which is hilarious and sad. Establishment republicans like Jeb have been trying to play the long game and avoid the guttertalk so they have a shot against Hillary, but Trump doesn't care about that and has been laser focused on the short term goal of beating the other republicans and getting the nomination by doing and saying the things the frothing crazies want. It's such a glorious and well deserved pickle he has them in.

Hillary set to blast away the competition with her carefully focus tested mic drop: "I know you are but what am I?"

Running for President ladies an gentleman. I'd rather have Bush than Trump though. I'd rather have Clinton's grandma than Trump.

Trump totally made Jeb look like an infant in the debate with his "Oh yeah, Jeb, you're a real tough guy" remark. It happens every time Jeb goes after him... Why can't he realize that this is not the turf he should be fighting on? Jeb was supposed to be almost at Hillary levels of "the primary is basically a formality," and Trump has caused him to be seen as an absolute joke.
