Trump vs Jeb ongoing war. Trump: "Jeb is dumb as a rock", Jeb: "Trump is a jerk"

Carson is just a mystery for the ages. His appeal is baffling.
Once he was a young violent man, just like all those black people that police keep shooting. Then, he found God. God helped him act like a black person should, and he became a successful neurosurgeon. You see, all those poor black people bring it on themselves! If they just saw the light, and lived like a good Christian should, they wouldn't have any problems.

Basically, Carson appeals to white Christian Americans that want to pretend there is no race problem in the USA. He also appeals to Evangelicals in general with his story about being saved by his faith.

As I mentioned in another thread, I have witnessed teachers hold him up like an idol for racially minority students to emulate.

You cannot insult your way to the presidency," he said, reiterating an attack line he's been firing at Trump. "You can't disparage women, Hispanics, disabled people. Who is he kidding?"

That's nice Jeb. Maybe you should've started talking like this, maybe a few MONTHS ago

"We should reject that out of hand. And I hope you're going to reject it by voting for me," he told the audience. "But a guy like that should not be the front-running candidate of our great party. That is not how we win."
But the GOP is not a great party, Jeb! It is a horrible party, which shit like Trump being the front-running candidate is proof of.

Jeb looks like an ultra-liberal next to the front runners of the pack, which is why he's getting smoked. The GOP has become a total shit show since the rise of the Tea Party. I really don't think the GOP can sustain itself in this state. There will have to be changes if the party wishes to see the presidency again.

I wish I shared the same optimism as many on GAF do about this, but let's be realistic: the GOP is winning. Their obstructionist strategy has led them to control of the house, the senate, and a huge majority of state governorships.

I just don't understand how anyone can look at these images and think that the GOP is dying or doomed. Will they win the Presidency next year? Probably not, but a GOP presidency is a lot more likely than the democrats somehow winning back control of the house, the senate, and state governments. All its going to take for them to regain control of the White House is a recession or major terrorist attack.

The problem with the Bush family is that they have a diplomatic relationship with the Saudis? Doesn't Obama have diplomatic relationships with them as well?

Obama doesn't have decades old business and personal relationships with them, nor was he good friends with the actual Bin Laden family. I mean, seriously? Were you being funny or do you not understand the bush family history?

Trump totally made Jeb look like an infant in the debate with his "Oh yeah, Jeb, you're a real tough guy" remark. It happens every time Jeb goes after him... Why can't he realize that this is not the turf he should be fighting on? Jeb was supposed to be almost at Hillary levels of "the primary is basically a formality," and Trump has caused him to be seen as an absolute joke.
Yep, Trump handles Jeb every time without even trying. Jeb seems to think he will just get the nomination by default which would explain why in every debate he talks about Hillary only. How he has managed to string his donors on for this long I do not know. He is terrible at debating and his name is toxic.

The GOP isn't going to immediately die, but they have a clear long term problem. Their support is from an almost exclusively white base, and here is the percentage of voters who were white from the last several presidential elections:

2000: 81%
2004: 77%
2008: 74%
2012: 72%

If they don't improve with minority voters it's just going to continue to get worse and worse for them. I'd say it's still possible to turn things around with Hispanic voters with the right leadership, but it's not going to take too much more of the current racist nuttery before that demographic starts to solidify on the opposite side like black voters have.

I'm not able to find a reputable source showing that Bush was close friends with the Bin Laden family. I've heard this claim before and am genuinely curious. Could you point me towards a reliable source? All I'm finding is infowars type sites making that claim.

I mean unless you think the Denver Post, the New York Times and 28 pages of the the 9/11 report are infowars style sources I'm failing to see how you had any trouble at all...

In 1978, Bush and Osama bin Laden's brother, Salem bin Laden, founded Arbusto Energy, an oil company based in Texas.

Several bin Laden family members invested millions in The Carlyle Group, a private global equity firm based in Washington, DC. The company's senior advisor was Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush. After news of the bin Laden-Bush connection became public, the elder Bush stepped down from Carlyle.

Interestingly, on Sept. 11, 2001, members of the Carlyle Group - including Bush senior, and his former secretary of state, James Baker - were meeting at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C., along with Shafiq bin Laden, another one of Osama bin Laden's brothers.

While all flights were halted following the terrorist attacks, there was one exception made: The White House authorized planes to pick up 140 Saudi nationals, including 24 members of the bin Laden family, living in various cities in the U.S. to bring them back to Saudi Arabia, where they would be safe. They were never interrogated.
