What if they don't even call it PS5 Pro and they go with PS5+ and it's just positioned as a mid gen refresh of the base console? maybe that's why we've had price rises across the board.

We still got a State of Play and TGS to finish out the month. Getting PS5 Pro out there early it seems.
Was really hoping we would get something like "watch this"

Side note I know people are complaining about this show only being 9 minutes but he doesn't have much to explain outside of PSSR

Some rummors also suggested that end of month sop wont have first party titles either.
Its kind of weird to reveal the pro and show it off first with Indies and 3rd party games.

My biggest realistic hope for the pro is supporting some from of AI auto-upscaling for older PS4 titles like the auto SR in windows. So many games could benefit from this. But I imagine I'll be disappointed.
That's true. Some PS4 games like Final Fantasy XV could benefit from the PSSR. The latter is still stuck on 1080p on Lite settings and the High settings are only 1800p checkerboarding with terrible framepacing.

Hardware reveal on September 10th, software reveals on September 19th,
Upgraded dualsense, disc drive sold separately. Official launch on November 14th, 500 pounds, PS5 Pro bundled with the disc drive on December 5th, at 589 pounds.
Lets see how It goes.

9 minute presentation means no new game announcement which is extremely disappointing. i was told by many here that sony was skipping e3 to do a full showcase alongside the pro reveal in september.

i guess they still arent ready to show stuff. fucking herman.

No way it won't be "as good". That doesn't make a lot of sense. And pretty sure new games will have to support the Pro.
By that I mean not as good as they say it'll be. I don't trust corporate bs when it comes to saying what a console can do.

It's often just a load of bs.

I know they don't care about dedicated hardware anymore but man, it's going to be a weird couple of years if Xbox don't have a reply to this, like the One X.

Did they say the games would specifically be announced the day the pro is? September is a long month full of gaming-related presentations.

They already have a pro console, by their own words.

nah look at the bigger picture, new game reveals (while very Hype) would just detract from the overall presentation, better to show currently released and/or already revealed games so they can more closely examine the uplift for this console, showing a brand new game raises the question 'what does this look like on standard ps5?' VS what they're going for, which is 'wow, this is a big step up from base'.

May am in the minority, but I am more interested in what its going to to for the games I already own, and which teams will support it now via patching their already released games. I am sue astro will get a patch and have no doubt DS2 and whatever else is due out this year will support it

When the showcase for Sony first-party games comes along, I want that to be about them, and we know they will be covering games due out next year and beyond. I can wait. I was already waiting anyway. Not too excited about seeing anything I won't get to play for another 12-24 months.

I want the next few weeks the P{S5pro does for Astro, star wars, DS2, GT7....etc.

I still don’t see the point of this machine. We’ve barely seen anything next gen only and barely anything taking advantage of the PS5.

What are y’all thinking it’ll cost? I have seen talk of $700 😬 No way on that, but I figured at least $550.

How can they price it anywhere close to what PS5 currently sells for though?
Do you see the point of the series pro model? Are you just upset that there's not a cat in hells chance it's going to beat the ps5 pro in anything?

If they think that anyone wants to see indies or low quality third parties after this reveal, they're cooked.
What better way to show off your newest, most powerful hardware than showing mediocre & forgettable shitty software which will also be available everywhere else and nobody asked for?

I got married this year, so no fucking way my wife lets me get a ps5 pro. Lol.

I'll just have to live with my ps5 poor.
Divorce her or just say you bought new faceplates for your PS5 that improves cooling and airflow which improves performance of the console

Damn no games tomorrow at all the way it sounds
All I need is a date and a price.

If the rumours are true it will be backed up with a blog post, hopefully more details there and a full version of the cerny video, doubt 9 minutes is all recorded.

They would've cut it down to basics after the backlash from the road to ps5.

I think there will be a demo of pssr doing its thing, maybe in spiderman or ratchet, I will literally jiz if it's Astro Bot with raytracing enabled

The only way this isn't an inevitability is if the majority of their customers agree with you and vote with their wallets. Unfortunately, I feel like this is going to be the Apple headphone jack argument all over again, and by the time the next generation rolls around this will be the norm.

Some people have large physical game libraries for PS4 and PS5, and if physical games were phased out, they'd essentially be starting over from scratch. There are also individuals on forums like NeoGAF who have stated they will stick with consoles as long as they continue to offer physical copies. Removing physical games could be seen as another nail in the coffin for those players.

Am I the only one who wasn't expecting games at this? Perhaps a demo or two to highlight his examples, but that was it.

pre-orders I expect to announce via the blog or SoP for a later date to begin. Maybe October.

while i enjoy this picture, i highly doubt xbox fans are dying because ps fans get to buy a 700 new console that plays the exact same games
Plus we have known for about a year Xbox wasn't going to have a pro console so they have had awhile to brace for impact of all the head to head matchups
