Sort of. The Silph Scope can be used to clear Pokemon Tower, which is necessary to get the PokeFlute. You can use a PokeDoll as an alternative method, but we're not coordinated enough for that to be viable.

We need the sylph scope, or poke dolls... we burned through our pokedolls, I don't think it's a viable strategy since we'd probably end up using them on the way to the top of the tower.

About halfway. Clearing the Rocket Headquarters serves as a pretty accurate halfway mark.

I'm a bit mixed on X/Y, they have a lot of problems. IMO series peak is still HG/SS.
