Twitch Plays Pokemon: Dig, Dig for Victory!

Out of curiosity, what's the problem with Flareon, and what's the problem with the release option? I imagine trolls are trying to release the pokemon to screw the run, but is there more to it? Why are people upset with Eevee/Flareon?
Getting Eevee wasted a lot of time, and it was supposed to be a Vaporeon.

But really... we need Flareon to be our guiding sun now that the moonstone has been lost and Charmeleon's flame put out.

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
It game back briefly with a "democracy/anarchy" meter. Hopefully just a measure of the randomness/unity of the inputs?

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
Now that is smart, so now the chat can decide himself which system to use.

so now in addition to button inputs we get the chat shouting "ANARCHY" at red

this is lovely

edit: you know, it might not be a bad idea in and of itself to thin out the number of inputs

Last time it was to take off the 'democracy' system.

Speaking of which hoo boy, it just flashed back and there was some weird 'Anarchy/Democracy' bar. Perhaps he's going to get people to vote by typing either word?

Missed the whole democracy thing, bummer.

Anarchy is the way of the Helix.

This has got to be a behavioural psychiatrist's dream: a massive sample size, right there, willingly participating for free.

He really shouldn't be fucking with how the inputs work at this stage in the game... you can't take an experiment seriously if you're always changing the rules. We either accomplish something or we don't, don't change the rules to try and make it so we CAN no matter what (we will eventually anyways)

I agree with this.

The funny thing is that people are voting on this rather than actually moving the character, so it's slowed everything down!

Don't worry, it was completely terrible. It severely limited the amount of inputs the game would take in a given time frame - which was like watching the regular stream in slow-motion - and, once everyone figured out you could add values to inputs, the game just paused and unpaused for minutes on end until the system was changed back to normal.

I agree. This is a bad idea.

Even if everyone leaves and we never finish the game the system shouldn't be messed with.
Even if we never leave the casino.

Agreed. If he's that impatient, just take control for a few minutes and finish this place, switching things up like this is just bad.

Then why is he reconsidering it? Seems like it would work worse than it has as an anarchy.

This... I'm starting to get disillusioned with the streamer... He seems to be falling under the domish influence. Or worse, Flareon's himself.

Flareon was on the PC, maybe he found a way to infiltrate and control the stream.

I'm afraid we are doomed.

I've a Psychology & Computing degree and this is indeed fascinating on many, many levels. I do hope that a lot of this data has been logged for later playback and analysis both on the input data and the social/meta side of the process.

It's seriously fascinating and i've forgotten a lot of my degree knowledge due to atrophy as i'm no longer in the field.

That's my take on it. If they eventually fail to make any progress, call it as it is after a week - failure of the hivemind. That would be more interesting than continually adjusting the bar downward.

Not even us FlareGod worshipers want this, brother. I fear the streamer might just be an even greater evil than any of us have encountered before.

Because thousands and thousands of trolls and bots already made that impossible,

Then write a script that hunts for bots... but "democracy" is actually EASIER for the bots to control versus Anarchy... the fact that Anarchy has worked just fine for us in the past, even on things as god awful as the ledge shows it works... but it DOES take time.

Recently there was some BS Batman vs Superman comic where the two were controlled by every gamer on the planet and with that they had every strategy on Earth and were amazing as everyone simultaneously controlled their actions in a fight vs Mongul.

In reality it would have been like this game of twitch Pokemon...I demand a rewrite to reflect this :D

The chat couldn't come to an agreement on getting Eevee. Eevee took up a slot they needed for Lapras later, so they had to go to the PC to deposit one Pokemon (well, first they tried to leave one Pokemon at the day care which didn't work out because of a ledge - imo they should have kept trying), which led to poor Abby being released as well as Jay Leno, and now Eevee is the anti-christ.

The problem with Flareon is that its the weakest Eevee evolution, we don't need a fire type, and on top of that, it has no moves right now (but it is still the anti-christ).

Anarchists can mess with the democratic system (but not vice versa), so I don't even see the point of the poll. Unless the streamer is planning to ban the "start9" movement.

Pokemon politics, y'all!
