Good news, everyone!

HAHAHAHAHA

New post with a progress update is up:

Yesterday, we let you know that we were working on our next update, which we’re calling Patch 2. Our team has been working non-stop to get the patch ready, and today we can tell you that we are currently wrapping up this update. We will be deploying it as soon as possible.

As noted in yesterday’s post, this patch should mitigate the following bugs on all platforms:

  • Arno falling through the ground.
  • Game crashing when joining a co-op session.
  • Arno getting caught inside of hay carts.
  • Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start.
Note, the PC version of Patch Two will include a number of additional fixes, including graphical problems, such as flickering issues with nVidia SLI and AMD CrossFire configurations and improved performance in cinematic mode on low HW configurations, among others.

Full patch notes for each platform will be provided once the update is released. Once we know an exact timeframe, which will likely be different for the PC and console versions, we will post it here.

As always, post your comments here or click over to the forums to discuss this post in more detail.

Arno getting caught inside hay carts
Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start

Note, this list includes a number of items that will be fixed in Patch Two. To see the complete list of specific issues for each platform, check out our full list of known issues in the forums.

If you’re having problems that aren’t included here, make sure to report them by contacting customer support. We will be updating the forum thread with the comprehensive list of issues—and the known solutions or workarounds—on a regular basis, so be sure to check that page often!

Thanks for your support!

I love the Patch 3 talk already haha.

Maybe this is Ubi's 'out' of the Microsoft parity clause.

Release a buggy game and in one of the myriad of updates, slip in the 1080p patch.

"In addition, we are already looking into many of the other issues you’ve told us about..."

Love the subtle implication that there was no way they could have known about these glaring, ubiquitous issues before, you know, releasing the game.

I own this game but haven't played it yet. Think I'll wait for Patch 3 to get a more polished experience with it. Glad I have SO and MCC

to chew on in the meantime

Not saying I agree with this choice, but anyone who didn't see this coming is blind. Ubisoft obviously wants you to spend money on microtransactions and they become less and less valuable the further you progress through the game. It's shitty nonetheless, but it's of course what they'd have to fix first from their perspective of wanting to entice you.

They shot themselves in the foot. Now they gotta control the damage...

Hahaha! They started by fixing the micro transactions. Oh my... it's like a dark comedy. No priority for the consumer's experience. Nope. Oh noes our money. Save the money first.

I don't think it's anything to do with a parity clause. More to do with the fact that they were part of a Microsoft bundle deal for the holiday season so they would have been under immense pressure to get the game out this week. As such, they would have prioritised the xbox one version over all the others and it shows.

I certainly won't be buying this game. I'll get it free from nvidia when I upgrade my gpus.

1. It's fucking sad that a AAA game in 2014 needs a live blog to update the community on issues.

2. How does a game even release in this state? Is it really just not giving a shit? They would have to have never even playtested to not notice these issues. Within hours there were videos on youtube, it's not like these are rare occurences

Ubi could have and should have moved this to early 2015. Watch Dogs was garbage and sold what, 9 mil? You have a franchise that people actually like and are excited for, it's not like it wouldn't have sold well.

"By the way, thanks for the money and go screw yourselves."

Hopefully people are more careful with Ubisoft games in the future, now that it's more obvious that they don't care about performance out the gate so long as they get that money.

Been ages, on pc its a running gag, u always tend to need a pc from the future... good thing I usually buy their games with currency from the past (dirt cheap ;))

I realize it does nothing for Ubisoft to upset people, but holy hell they let it happen big with foreseeable issues this time.

Ubisoft basically: The paid beta has started, please helps us do something we should have done during the development of the game, we have no shame.

Holy shit Ubi! There are a bunch of bugs in your game, yet only microtransactions is fixed first?[/QUOTE]

If they had other bug fixes available and could patch in the framerate issues, the would have. Should they have withheld this fix for a week or two perhaps, just so it didn't "look bad"? There are legitimate issues you can rag them on, so many it makes my head spin. Why allow the game to be released in this state? But this particular bug fix is not one of them.

To be true, I cannot understand what wrong is going on with Ubisoft. Don't they understand that releasing the microtransactions fix this early will piss off customers? And how the hell did they decide to release the game when it is extremely buggy? LOL I think Ubisoft must have gone crazy :D

You know its Karma biting you in the ass when even your reasonable actions make you look like so thoroughly out of touch. In this case that fateful decision to release the game with so many bugs is the gift that will keep on giving.

I've often said it at work, but you can tell you've made a great decision because other unseen secondary great decisions seem to naturally flow from it. Its the same with bad decisions, and their effects echo on down the chain.

I love the Patch 3 talk already haha.

At this point it's undeniable, 1st day buyers really are the official beta-testers for AC:Unity. Literally, they are asking you to play this game and report the bugs you find to them so that they can patch in fixes at some point down the road. It's ridiculous.

The problem here is, that Ubi even spent resources like time, manpower and money to fix microtransactions before anything else.
Also they have to pay for every update they deploy on services like PSN and XBOX Live, as fas as I know. So why do not wait and combine the microtransactions patch with patch 1.2? Obviously because microtransactions = more money, in ubisofts books.

Still not a major issue, as Ubi is working hard to get the other fixes/updates out as soon as possible (and they must!) but the micortransactions patch is a bit dubious.

Hope they address the issue that seems to be PC specific at this point, where the game consistently freezes or outright crashes if you travel to the two southeastern most sections.

It is one of many threads on the Ubi forums - there are a couple videos of it happening in there.

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...a-after-accepting-Cafe-Theatre-mission/page6?

Basically had to give up on the cafe theatre mission, and have to avoid that region of the map in order to continue playing the game. Not good.

Many people paid for Helix Credits and didn't get them. I think it is obvious that microtransaction is the very first thing they must fix and release immediately.

The launch was a clusterfuck, but the live blog updates, having two more patches lined up, acknowledging and identifying pretty much all the issues immediately - these are good things.

Frankly, I'd like to see this more often. Not like there haven't been loads of games in the past with big issues and we haven't at times had to wait frustratingly long for any action to be taken or for the issues to be acknowledged at all.

All this must be evidence of some serious panic stations over at Ubisoft, though. I think they got the message finally.
