Ubisoft launches live blog to address AC Unity issues, next update detailed

Looking forward to the $29.99 Black Friday sale, or perhaps $19.99 after Christmas.

(I love AC and do want to play this, no snark, but this game just wasn't ready.)

Are you sure you're playing Unity? It sounds to me like you're playing Black Flag, that's the fun one.

The only thing wrong with this game is the technical issues - other than that if you're a fan of AC it's the best one in years. That message is getting lost in all the hyperbole. It is not a bad GAME in the slightest.

The game will sell millions and millions of dollars just like watch dogs did and to this day that game hasn't been fixed, this is just something to calm the waters, after a few weeks an update will br posted and that's that, it's crazy how much effort these companies put in building franchises and once they make it everything starts to get worse and worse with each installment of the franchise, i have finished every AC game but this is a pass from me, sadly they have force my hand
Wait, what was wrong with Watch Dogs?

The PS4 version was pretty damn polished and delivered a very stable frame-rate. It had occasional open world jank issues but nothing out of the ordinary that I can recall.

Totally agree with you. I've found it way better than Black Flag so far.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions and spend their money how they see fit but goddamn this upsets me more than anything.

What's so upsetting about it?

I pre-ordered the $89.99 gold edition on PC months ago. Been playing it for hours and couldn't be happier with my purchase. The game is just simply amazing.

Agreed, even with all the problems I'm enjoying the actual game.

This is a good start... I'm really enjoying the game, with the horrible technical issues being the only thing wrong.

The message is getting lost in Ubisoft being greedy and releasing an unfinished product.
i'm really looking forward to playing this, but Ubisoft deserves every inch of shit thrown at them, too bad the casualty had to be a decent game (assuming, since i haven't played it yet) but it's entirely their own doing.

Unless Ubisoft makes a last minute addition to their BF lineup, ACU isn't on sale anywhere that day.

Say what you want, the amount of (unneeded) npc's is impressive. Game looks gorgeous as fuck at times too.

Is it really that impressive if they're popping-in right in front of your character?

How can you appreciate the art style when there are models and textures popping in literally everywhere at ANY POINT, inducing visual monstrosity as well as animation glitches ?

How can you appreciate the gameplay, when it's running at 20 fps most the time ?

How can you have fun with your friends, when half the people are crippled with that outrageous "connection fail" error ? (check the ubi forums)

It IS a terrible game, as it stands, on console, ps4 for instance. The only thing it has, is potential.

The ps4 version is absolute insanity, as it currently is.

See gamers complaining matters

Now let's see how big a difference they really make with framerate.

I won't buy another Ubisoft product until they apologize for what they did and demonstrate they will not do it again into the future, but the absolute minimum they can do right now is ensure this abomination is fixed.

Yep...I jumped down a building last evening, landing on a long narrow street/alley on a sunny morning and with all the people and how far I could see and all,I just stood there for 30 seconds just looking at it,I mean,it was just awesome...of course if you look closely, you might start to see the little glitches, like people bumping into stuff, sometimes trying to just walk on top of stuff they shouldnt be doing but damn,it was awesome just the same.

Hey Ubisoft, you work on these issues in whatever order of priority you like. Once you're done, give me a shout and I'll see if I'm interested in purchasing your product

Maybe we should launch a live blog to address our concerns about games being released broken and/or unfinished. Bad enough when it happens on PC but it is inexcusable on console.

This year has really soiled my image of Ubisoft. Far Cry 4 was already on the back burner, but I'm not sure I should even bother now.

I fear for The Division, is there any hope this game will even work on launch?

It just isn't worth it to buy games on release anymore. I feel bad for the people who pay $60 to beta test broken games all to meet a stubborn publisher's ridiculous release schedule.

I'll say again had this game been delayed until early next year it would have scored 9+ from most reviewers. The technical issues really just drag it down. There's a really fantastic game here.

If they release a patch on consoles to improve performance and bring the frame rate to a near stable 30fps, I'll be happy. Not sure if I should hold off on playing this through because it seems like a patch is indeed in the works, and I'd rather enjoy it without technical issues taking me out of the experience constantly. Lots of other games that are out and that are coming that I could focus on.

Arno falling through the ground.
Game crashing when joining a co-op session.
Arno getting caught inside of hay carts.
Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start.
Frame rate issues.
Graphical and collision issues.
Matchmaking co-op issues.
Helix Credits issues.

It's funny, because these are all things I would expect to be done in development before it went gold, not after the game has released.

It wouldn't be so funny if I had bought it, granted.

Yes sir. I would rank this one up there with AC2 and Black Flag.

Well, as someone who ended up with this game through the Xbox One bundle, I sincerely hope they address these issues. I loved Black Flag, and I wanted very much to believe AC would be back on track. Here's to hope they address the graphical/performance issues (And the micro transaction crap, ideally too), before I actually start playing it.

Agree with this. I can't imagine going back to the pseudo stealth gameplay in the older games without my own customized assassin, the intense combat, and the parkour being more responsive and realistic than ever.

I bet this is why Jade Raymond jumped ship. She was all like "Hey guys, maybe we're making too many AC games. Also they are broken" And Ubisoft heads were all like "What? I can't hear you over the sound of smoking cigarettes and drinking wine and taking naps" and she was like "Screw this I'm out."

What a load of shit. Ubisoft withheld reviews until 12 hours after launch because they knew the game had problems and would get mediocre scores.

Yeah maybe they are "sorry" but that didn't stop them from selling a product they knew full well was a stinker. Nor from trying to keep reviewers quiet so as not to spoil those day 1 sales.

This "sell it at full price now, apoplgize and fix it later IF people complain loudly enough" bullshit has to stop. Ubisoft deserves every bit of negative buzz and decreased stock price they're getting. I hope gamers don't let them off the hook so easily.
