Ubisoft sued for shutting down The Crew

I genuinely am trying to understand the mentality of the lawyers here. Do they actually think they have a chance of some money? Or just getting internet famous by this facade of going after big bad publisher? Only in USA would somebody sue over something like this.

Why the hell would you agree to something if you dont understand what you're agreeing to?
Something tells me that you don't read even 1% of the EULA's that you "agree" to.

Honestly, I hope they win. Offline patches should become the standard for any title that requires an internet connection. Even if it results wandering an empty world, you should still be free to do so. Ideally, they should allow users to make their own servers.

Virtually all EULAs today say the same thing. There is no reason to read every single one of them.

1. You must agree to the EULA in order to use any software or service
2. You are granted a limited non exclusive license to use the software, you do not own it
3. The license can be revoked by the licensor at their discretion
4. Software or service is provided as is
5. Software or services can be discontinued at any time for any reason.

The problem is people like you dont even bother to read even a single one then get pikachu face when servers get shut down.

Maybe if they were written like above and not purposely lengthy legal jargon people would.

If someone buys a gift card from a nearby store, and the store closes down making the gift card pointless, whose fault is it?

The company for not honouring the card after it's shut down (refund everyone's leftover money on the card), or the customer for not getting their money's worth using it up asap before the deadline?
