Hype: What there to hype? There's always hype when the guy who is widely considered P4P the best in the world steps into the octagon. And this time he'll have a whole country behind him in Brazil against the LAST FIGHTER TO BEAT ANDERSON SILVA ALMOST SIX YEARS AGO!!!
OK, thats being over dramatic for no reason, since Silva lost by DQ on a badass "illegal" upkick in a fight he was controlling.

The story of this fight is can Okami take down Silva the way Sonnen did last year for a full 5 round and actually pull out a victory. There's a snowball's chance in hell of Okami finishing Silva, as 7 of his last 9 fights went to decision, and one of the two that didn't was a doctor's stoppage. Okami will be hard pressed to find a way to win, hoping for an unmotivated Silva who hasn't prepared for the totally transparent gameplan of Okama, in front of his home crowd is not very likely.
The co-main event of Shogun vs. Forrest looks more competitive on paper, with a lot of question marks. Shogun came off of a 10 month injury layoff and lost the LHW title to Jon Jones earlier this year, Griffin came off of a 14 month layoff to win a decision over Rich Franklin earlier this year as well. Like Silva, Shogun has "home field" advantage and the crowd will be behind him to put it on Forrest and avenge a 2007 defeat when he wasn't 100%

Forrest will again try to take this to the ground, as Shogun has an advantage striking, but he will be pretty hard pressed to hope lightning strikes twice over a motivated, in shape Shogun.
Other fights include Lil Nog vs. Schaub, the classic veteran on the downslope of his career who could be on the cut line without a win, versus a TUF up and comer. Hot up and coming lightweight Edson Barboza takes on vet Ross Pearson, who will have a tough time stopping the vicious leg kicks and amazing striking Barboza has in his arsenal. Another classic "gateholder" fight where if Barboza wins his stock - and competition - will shoot up immensely.
Overall a solid card I think, it's always a big deal when Anderson fights, and the atmosphere in Rio will be ridiculous with some major Brazilian fighters having the crowd behind them 100%. The crowd and adrenaline of this is going to push for some exciting segments.
