It shows heart, and balls. I agree it might seem kind of stupid but man... he could've lasted at least a couple seconds more?
At least he didn't tap to strikes. I think that's the most cowardly thing a professional prize fighter can do.

He basically did though. His takedown was him saying 'No more please Mr Diaz, Sir.'

Please. He was trying to buy himself some time to recover.
I disagree. The state he was in, he knew taking that fight to the ground meant swift defeat.

This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard (well aside from the tap out shit). Taking it to the ground was dumb, but fighters do it out of desperation, not as a way of giving up.
There is some amazingly dumb shit being spewed in this thread. I wonder if some of these people have actually watched MMA or just watch the highlights on Sportscenter.
He didn't want to get ko'd and found a way out between Nates legs. He gave up when he became a panicked wrestler, long before he tapped.
Fan interest and appeal does not make her deserving. I'm taking about what has she done to deserve a title shot? She stepped away after a brutal loss and may not return for nearly a year. You have fighters who are actually doing something to put themselves in a position get a shot.
Yup.
Ronda getting an immediate title shot over Holm is obvious favoritism. She stepped away from the game and had no intention of coming back anytime soon until after last night.
She shouldn't be #1. Miesha's the champ, Holm should be #1, Ronda at 2.
Without the protection of the belt Holly's gonna be quietly tossed out the back door for tarnishing the golden Rousey.
I feel like I'm talking to an Affliction shirt sometimes.
Holm will be back. I still think she beats Miesha 3 times out of 4 because of her strong takedown defense.6 months of that year is the medical suspension. That means she's technically not even cleared to train for 6 months. Then she's got to get back into shape after that 6 month layoff and try to improve before the next fight.
And to be honest.. not many of the women in the division aren't actually doing anything to advance themselves. There's some shuffling at the lower end of the top 10 but the Top 5 really aren't moving much. Every time a fighter stacks some wins to build they would fight Zingano or Tate or even Nunes and catch an L, halting their march to a title shot.
Hell even last night proved that Holm likely wouldn't have passed the gatekeepers had she faced them before she fought Ronda. Her two previous fights were Penningtona and Reneau, who aren't even top 10. So the UFC leapfrogged her past Zingano, Tate, et al to get that style fight and undefeated vs undefeated by line.
Don't be surprised if you see Holm slowly slip down the rankings when she has to fight more well rounded talent in the division that isn't going to foolishly run into her striking.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Holm will be back. I still think she beats Miesha 3 times out of 4 because of her strong takedown defense.
She lost because she looked for a strong finish and let her guard down just long enough to get caught. She fights cautiously like she did in rounds 3 and 4 and she easily wins on points.
Lol at the few people still saying Conor was dominating the fight until the end. Wtf fight were you watching? Despite the blood, the first round was a toss up, and in the second Diaz was playing with him once he learned the distance. At no point did Diaz look like he was in trouble, while Mcgregor looked really fucking nervous after he discovered Diaz's chin is made out of iron.
and perhaps she doesn't remain stagnant as a fighter. She'll most likely have a better ground game next time out. Lord knows it isn't her striking that she needs to work on at this point.Holm will be back. I still think she beats Miesha 3 times out of 4 because of her strong takedown defense.

https://www.facebook.com/thenotorio...8.1073741828.494191297315841/1225334304201533I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed.
I will never apologize for taking a shot.
Shit happens.
I'll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am. If another champion goes up 2 weights let me know.
If your tired of me talking money, take a nap.
I'll still be here when you wake up with the highest PPV and the gate. Still talking multi 7's.
Thank you to the true support and fuck the hate that came out of the woodwork. I love it all. Its still steak for breakfast.
I've been here many times in my life in some form or another. I'll eat it all and come back stronger.
Aldo you are a pussy. Dos anjos you are a pussy.
When the history books are written, I showed up. You showed up on Twitter.
To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges. Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on.
Nate I will see you again.
From the fans, yes.He was done. A smart fighter knows when he's been bested. What exactly does going to sleep accomplish? That's stupid meathead mentality.
:lolBut What Would War Machine Do?
really disappointed in Tatcht and McGregor's quick taps to those rear naked chokes.
Faber was so right, McGregor does quit. if you look at the chokes, McGregor still could have fought that choke by prying off Nate's hand from his head. unlike Tate's choke, there's nothing that Holm could have done against that

Not only have I seen Nate fight before, I watched him get his soul taken live by Bellator midcarder Josh Thomson.

Look out we got some MMA experts in here
Gregor himself said that he panicked, watch the post-presser.

Um,ok. Connor was laid out flat on his belly, there is no MMA fighter that could've gotten out of that RNC. Connor put himself in that shitty position after he got rocked, but don't tell me he could've gotten out of that choke once Nate locked it in.
You're just mad your reebok Conor shirt just became as valuable as the affliction shirts.
It's only an rnc from Nate Diaz though, Connor probably could have gotten out of it.
